L98Z28
I just got an rsw-15 and when I play it I get no bass at all. Now if you lightly push the active sub in and hold it while it's getting a signal it plays and sounds great. When not playing if you lightly push the woofer in it feels like it's dragging on something. I have not had the cabinet apart yet, I will later tonight. Any ideas on what cod have happened? Thanks in advance.
jason str
Sounds like a bad driver.
L98Z28
Would a bad driver sound perfect when you lightly push it in when playing?
Budman
remove the driver and check the wiring and reinstall.
Guest Steven1963
Is this a new sub? If so, wouldn't opening it void the warranty?
jason str
Would a bad driver sound perfect when you lightly push it in when playing? If the voice coil is bad, yes.
L98Z28
I'm going to tonight. If your facing the back of the sub (where the amp controls are) the left side of the sub doesn't move when you push on it. The right side does. So when playing, if you lightly push the right side in it plays and sounds great. It's like the sub is crooked on the travel. Maybe something wedged between the sub and the frame of the sub? L98Z28
Ok if the voice coil is bad anyone know where I can get a replacement active sub for it? Used or new.

jason str
Call Klipsch parts for a recone kit or new driver or check ebay.
Budman
keep an eye on the 2 RSW-15's on ebay right now that don't work for parts. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odkw=klipsch+speakers&_sop=10&_osacat=293&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.H0.Xklipsch+RSW-15&_nkw=klipsch+RSW-15&_sacat=293&_from=R40 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Klipsch-RSW-15-Cherry-Powered-Subwoofer-/281356603593?pt=Speakers_Subwoofers&hash=item41822910c9 Edited June 10, 2014 by Budman
JL Sargent
Of course those could have bad drivers too, right???

L98Z28
I am watching those two on eBay right now. Would love to find someone on here that has one with a bad amp and is will to part it out so I don't have to pay the high shipping.
L98Z28
If klipsch does have a repair kit how hard are they to do? Never done anything like this before.
CECAA850
I doubt they'd have a kit. You'd be lucky if they had the driver itself.
L98Z28
Alright stupid question.. How do you take the sub out? Have all torx screws out I can't get this thing out. Also looks like the mounting ring of the sub is cracked in 3 places. Not happy at this point.
CECAA850
The gasket may have the driver stuck plus it's pretty heavy. If all the screws are out, it should come out with a little encouragement.
L98Z28
Do I have to take the passive sub out first? I have the top where I can lift it off the box but no way is the sub even moving. I can't even spin it. It's like there's mounting tabs or brackets on the inside or something.
