Kelly McAloney
Would it hurt my speaker to run it so what was up and down was side to side(basically on its side) rs42ii
CECAA850
It won't hurt the speaker. It will change the direction of the sound coming from the speaker however.

Kelly McAloney
I have these as my side rears and it's about 6.5 feet off the floor, I have a u shaped couch and were I always sit/ lay is right under it and the sound goes right over me, sometimes I have to get up and see if it's even on
CECAA850
You should be fine then. Be careful if you mount them to a wall if they have key hole mounts. They won't hang properly and may fall.

Kelly McAloney
Is there something else I could do
CECAA850
IF you've calibrated your system properly and the sides are about 2 foot over your ears as you're seated than that's all you can do. Sides don't play continuously and sometimes don't have any output at all. It all depends what's on the sound track.
Kelly McAloney
You don't think there be anything gained
CECAA850
Not if you've done all of the above.
Heritage_Head
Could be they are so close they can't disperse right (whatever klipsch calls it ). The best idea is run it both ways and go from there. What we normally would do is not always the best fit. When you say you set up your system the best you could. Does that mean you ran a auto program with your avr as well? Edited October 17, 2014 by reference_head
Scrappydue
I've had rs-62's two feet from me red and they just screamed at me. I'm guessing something isn't set up right. And recommend setup is as the op setup as far as height. Maybe some pics would help?
Kelly McAloney
My avr has no auto set up and I'll see if I take a pic

USNRET
and could you tell us what source you are using, what connections you are using (HDMI,etc) and model of the AVR?
Kelly McAloney
Htr 3063 Yamaha, I am looking for new reiciever but haven't had Time yet, I calibrated it by just going through all the settings and doing it like that it sounds great when I get reiciever I will be putting rears, everything is hdmi except aux cable for phone
Kelly McAloney
I was getting a little distortion at very high volumes but I just switched fronts from large to small and it sounds perfect! Almost, lol
