srvrip
Hey guys, hope I don't have to stay after school for posting violation(s) here, but as stated above, I am kicking around the idea of selling these. Walnut and WIFE'S cat put a claw thru one woofer. Other than that, these have been my sweethearts since 1988, the year I got married. Question: Can I post my phone number/ Email Address here? Just thought somebody might have an extra woofer in the workshop, and be able to fix and upgrade these puppies! All stock, no Crites Mods etc... Thanks in advance for any help. I have an idea of the approx. value, but your results may vary. John
USNRET
I would put forth the following: Post asking price Photos, more is better Yes you can post personal contact info but I would not; interested parties can obtain that from you via PM
OO1
let see the pictures and kick off the sale -
opusk2k9
Did the cat get the front woofer or the passive on the back?
mwells
I believe there is still a woofer or two on ebay. They come up pretty often.
mwells
Did the cat get the front woofer or the passive on the back? I was wondering about that as well.
colterphoto1
small tears can easily be fixed and should spread unless the speakers are run really really hard. A bit of clear fingernail polish (clear is specified lol) and piece of cloth or rice paper (we all know where to get that, right) affixed to the BACK side of the cone should fix it right up. approx value of forte $500 depending on condition. (subtract slightly for repaired woofer) Edited January 29, 2015 by colterphoto1

colterphoto1
Beautiful finish, is that just multiple coats of oil, or has someone applied poly on them? WOW they really pop. Uh, about that woofer, yeah that's gonna need to be replaced. Do a WTB thread for the part, fix em up and then they will show their true worth. Brac
Actually the front is the better one to be damaged, the passive can be hard to find.
srvrip
The cat has been hard to find also. As far as the finish, no poly, but just some Formby's prior to the "Photo "FUBAR" Shoot"! They DO have nice grain... toolz
Are you referring to Formby's Tung Oil finish?
colterphoto1
got grilles?
srvrip
Formby's Lemon Oil. Just a dab will do ya! Yes, I have the grills. No cat scratch fever on the grills, due to the fact they were put in storage in a plastic bag. Didn't think things thru when the wife brought home the 2 NEW rescue cats. ... But at least he didn't get my Vox Amp. John
colterphoto1
What you're looking for is a gently used K23, that's the front 12" woofer for the forte.
kaiser SET say
You say he's still a rescue cat, just from John now I like your handle John and being an old Austinite myself I thought you might like a nice Avatar picture An artist friend of mine did this rendition of his Greatist Hits album cover
