gychang
not interested in home theater but strictly for 2channel audio in a large room. I listen mainly to small jazz group, instrumental etc, using a digital amplifier low power like D amplfiier. Local CL has pair of Synergy F-3, like new at $450 or best offer. I am thinking about it since Klipsche tend to be very efficient with low power amp in a large listening room. Would be interested in impression as to how this setup may work from forum members. thanks,
teaman
I have listened with the F-3's in two channel and they sound pretty good. They are very efficient. Remember the quality of the amp you drive them with makes a significant difference. woot.com just had the F-3's brand new for $179 apiece. They still have some nice offers on the table. Maybe, check them out! .......Just so you know, Klipsch does not have and "e" on the end! Edited February 20, 2015 by teaman
JiminSTL
Gychang, Welcome! And I hope that you find what will please you greatly with some Klipsch speakers. The Synergy F-3 towers were my first Klipsch, other than an RC-3 center channel speaker. I found them very pleasant to listen to! I have purchased nearly ALL of my audio equipment through that means. Not to say that you shouldn't be very careful, but there are many wonderful deals there. Or, you can get some very fine prices from various online sources, such as Newegg, and others. They run specials that are worth your patience. Best of luck, and let us know what you decide. Ceptorman
I'm not sure of your location, but here's a deal from a forum member, he's in Arkansas….https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/155309-for-saleoriginal-rf-82s-mint-condition/ Edited February 20, 2015 by Ceptorman
twk123
If you are willing to post you location we can help find you some additional deals in your area. Here it UT there are a set of KG 5.5's going for $475 and you can probably get him down to $425 or so. I have a pair and absolutely love them. They are better for larger rooms though as you need to run a good amount of power into the speakers to open up the bass and in a smaller room the highs can really start to scream at you. http://www.ksl.com/index.php?nid=218&ad=33529367&cat=&lpid=&search=klipsch&ad_cid=2

teaman
Also, since you were debating at buying preowned F-3's. Maybe take a look at some Heresy of Forte speakers. They offer 12 inch woofers and a three way design that allows the midrange horn to smooth out any harshness in the higher frequencies. I own two pair and I love them! Bubo
For the same money or less you can score a pair of Heresys or Fortes, both have 12 inch woofers. I own the synergy products, and think for 2.0 the above is a no brainer. My two cents
cheric
I had a chance to listen to the F3's (F30's) and thought they were nice but I would not pay more than $300 for a pair. At that price, look for a pair of Quartet.
mattSER
There appears to be a pair of Fortes near you for $400. Don't know how close you are to them, but definitely worth a shot! http://modesto.craigslist.org/ele/4883670535.html

mattSER
The F-3s are fine speakers, but you shouldn't pay more than $400 for them. Preferably $350 or less seeing as RF-3s or RF-35s can be found often for less than $300.
