DAuger
I got handed a pair of speakers from a family friend. Im trying to do some research on what they are. So far I got they are Klipsch Heresy...Dont know which ones. the serial number is stamped on the back edge. Also they speaker is the K-22, the other k-77 and i believe its a k-53. The boxes are in a little rough shape, not sure if i want to fix them up and sell them or keep them. trying to see what they are worth. If some one can help me out would be awesome. Thaddeus Smith
post some pictures. condition is everything, both of the cabinets and the drivers. along with series (whether they are heresy 1, 2, or 3's). probably somewhere in the $200-1000 range, depending on the factors above. DAuger
for some reason these are the only 2 photos i can upload, i also have 2 stands that go with them, they say they are Target Audio Edited September 30, 2015 by DAuger
djk
I call that a Heresy 1.5, it has a type 1 tweeter, and a type 2 midrange.
colterphoto1
Base value for any working Heresy used to be about $300, maybe more. Not terrible cabinet shape for their era but not minty. Great little speakers leave em close to the floor/walls for more bass output. If not pretty enough for the living room or home office, make great basement speakers for the workout room or garage/workshop. We love em!
CECAA850
I call that a Heresy 1.5, it has a type 1 tweeter, and a type 2 midrange. Front mounted drivers start the 2 series? Removable backs 1 and 1.5's?

WMcD
It is difficult to see exactly the extent of the damage from the photo but it looks like some of the dings may have gone down below the top surface. Only you, on the spot can tell, of course. If you are going to re-finish you might try, first, just a buff puff facial pad from Walgreens and some "lemon oil" furniture "polish." You can't damage anything (like sand through) with a buff puff and it will cut through any grunge from dust and cigarette smoke. This "lemon oil" is just light motor oil with a lemon fragrance (probably to hide the aroma of motor oil). Wipe off the excess with a paper towel.` In my experience, just using a buff puff with uncolored lemon oil, will result a brown residue on the towel. Part of that might be the first very thin layer of wood or is the grunge. Not to worry. If there is raw wood in the dings, the type with a stain could be beneficial. http://www.amazon.com/Old-English-Scratch-Cover-Ounce/dp/B0063KFJHK/ref=pd_sim_201_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=1D85SC1445M7YNZP5VFZ&dpID=41sVrox3l6L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_ Of course it doesn't real cover or fill in the damage but will stain the damage. If you want to go with something more substantial, you can use http://www.homedepot.com/p/Watco-1-pt-Medium-Walnut-Danish-Oil-265506/203164648 That Watco is the medium stuff and should not color the rest of the wood too much. You should try either colored type on an inconspicuous spot, like the bottom of the speakers before going to the top and sides, just to see if either product with stain darkens the rest of the wood too much for your liking. With Watco you should look for a warning about disposing of rags. At least some of the stuff has linseed oil which can cause spontaneous combustion if packed away wet. When I was doing this I just put the cloth on a little clothes line in the garage and let it dry until stiff and dry. WMcD Edited October 2, 2015 by William F.
