Mr._Music_Fan
Aside from that? Can I use my HWO Heresey together with my Fortes II?
davis419b
Yes you can !
jimjimbo
Yes, sure you can. Why don't you try them and see what you think?
Woofers and Tweeters
Nice score.
Mr._Music_Fan
Thanks guys for the feedback. I was thinking of having the HWOs upside down on the Fortes's, so that the tweeters on the HWOs would be ear level. Thoughts?
jimjimbo
That's been done before, but I don't remember what the overall impressions were. Go ahead and try that, and then set them back up right side up, but put something under the back edge and tilt them downwards a bit. See if you can tell the difference. I would be interested to see what you think
Mr._Music_Fan
Great idea Jimbo! I think I'm gonna give it a go now. Oh, do you or anyone else happen to know if the Forte II are 8, 6, or 4 ohms?
jimjimbo
8, by the way, what amp are you planning on driving them with? Edited December 21, 2015 by jimjimbo
Mr._Music_Fan
I am driving them with a Marantz 2252
Mr._Music_Fan
So I stacked them, but I am going to have to experiment further tomorrow. I don't to wake up my neighbor above me too much.
jimjimbo
2252 should be great!
Mr._Music_Fan
Ok, one last question... Do you think it is save to drive both the Fortes and the HWO using both the "a" and "b" speaker posts on the 2252?
jimjimbo
You do mean the speaker system one and speaker system two posts correct? If so yes it is safe to drive them both at the same time.
Mr._Music_Fan
Yes, you are correct. I have speaker system "a" and "b". I am able to use both systems at the same time, but was wondering if it was a good idea or not.
John Chi-town
Place the forte II about 15 inches outward from rear wall and adjust accordingly. Those passive radiators need room to breath. You now own one of the most balanced Klipsch speakers ever made. Best regards, John
jimjimbo
Yes, you are correct. I have speaker system "a" and "b". I am able to use both systems at the same time, but was wondering if it was a good idea or not. It is not a problem. Try it, you may or may not like the results. Mr._Music_Fan
Thanks John, I have them at about 13 inches from the wall facing straight ahead. Tomorrow I will adjust the toe in to find the "spot".
