mattSER
Looking at the Teac AI-301DA and AI-501DA for my next purchase, few months from now. Anybody have any experience with these? Things that have me interested: - Tiny footprint - Hi-res USB DAC / Integrated amp all-in-one - Power doubles into 4 ohms - Class D power The 301 uses ICEpower while the 501 uses ABLETEC. Any thoughts on quality difference here? Also, they use different DAC chips and it seems that the 301's may be better? The 501 definitely looks a lot nicer with the dual VU meters. Depending on seller, price difference is minimal. Will be using it with my RP-160m's. Any thoughts?

billybob
Did a search for teac in all forums looking for this, as well as other conversations. The 501 is the subject mostly. Power is the topic: https://community.klipsch.com/index.php?/topic/146614-does-the-teac-ai-501da-amplifier-have-enough-power-to-drive-the-klipsch-rf-7-floor-mounted-speaker/page-2?hl=teac
mattSER
I'm not too worried about power output as I'm currently enjoying my 160s with less than 20watts. More wondering if anybody knows anything about ICEpower vs ABLETEC. Also the 501's BurrBrown PCM5102 vs the 301's BurrBrown PCM1795
tromprof
I am using a Teac AH01 with K-horns and an Ice Power based receiver in my main system, sound great. Also have a gainclone amp that does a nice job on big horns as well. With the right speakers chip amps are magic.
oldenough
I use a TEAC AI 2000 integrated amp in my 2 channel b/room system, paired with Klipsch RB5 speakers. It is a very nice sounding, and very well built piece, with plenty of power.
jvs1670
I bought the 301 last spring, crutchfield had them marked down and there was a factory rebate got it for $299 new. I really bought it for my daughter to use in her room but before I gave it to her I hooked it up to my Quartets in my room. I thought it was great, plenty of power and very detailed sound with no noise at all. Blutooth works well even though you loose a little fidelity as compared to hard connection. I would buy another one without a doubt, if that deal comes around again I might be forced to get another one.
mattSER
Awesome. Good to hear, guys! Did some more research and found that the DAC chip in the 501 is indeed better. I'll be ordering one as soon as I can
