Arrow#422
I found 3 ads much like this one sporadically placed across the nation today for Heresy's under $100. Same Gmail contact. Here fishy, fishy. It can't be legit but I've been wrong before, just not very often. Edited March 4, 2016 by Arrow#422
Arrow#422
Other questionable Heresy listings here: a $75 pair in Phoenix AZ http://phoenix.craigslist.org/wvl/ele/5474698236.html $165 pair in Knoxville TN http://knoxville.craigslist.org/ele/5469791024.html
RX8
The $75 pair mentions consecutive serial numbers. Anyone who is smart enough to know the importance of that will know these aren't $75 speakers. Probably want to give you a bogus check for $2500 and ask that you pay them $2425 in return.
wvu80
It can't be legit but I've been wrong before, just not very often. You may have been wrong another day, but not today. The G-mail addy is the same style in all three ads. Fake, fake, fake.
mungkiman
Someone is stealing photos from legitimate ads. Here's the "$80" dollar pair: http://southbend.craigslist.org/ele/5458718617.html

RX8
The real sad part is that people fall for these scams every day otherwise the scammers wouldnt waste their time. Edited March 4, 2016 by RX8
JoeDirt
So you're saying I shouldn't send them a check for $2500? But it sounds so good, in fact too good to be true. I also hate when these posers make a lame claim about being in the military and being transferred so they can't take their items with them. Oh yea, the item is wrapped and ready for shipping from a base far away from where item is listed. Hi, I'd like to order some red flags, please. Arrow#422
For those of you "in the know", what is the deal? If I send an email inquiry to the ad poster, what happens - A reply with a virus, worm, or malware attached coming back? Other than meeting in person with "those" issues, what would be the worst case for making an email inquiry? Flagging them all now - Edited March 4, 2016 by Arrow#
wvu80
Flagging them all now - That would make you the second person on this thread to do so.

The apparently legit ad ($500) - in photos, although not in text, shows consecutive #'s. The scammers are geting better, know enough English to state that in their text. Flagging them all now - Arrow- It's usually some version of "Advance Fee Fraud" They never physically meet .Probably they are literally in a internet cafe often in Lagos, Nigeria. Most often. Google the above, or "419" if interested. Different versions, same basic concepts/ methods involved. Always some offer that titillates the "greed" in all of us. Others chime in if theres more please. Lars I flagged those from OP & my subsequent two that were noted. The $500 pair looked legit & was not <flagged>.
