Josh810
This last weekend I purchased a set of RP-280fa and a set of RP-140sa to build a 7.1.4 I just ordered the Yamaha 3050 and in order to run all speakers I need a additional amp, I am leaning to the emotiva xpa-3 to power my RP-450ca along with my fronts. Do you guys have any suggestions?
mustang guy
I would check that the AVR can specify which channels can use an external amp before I spent the money on the XPA-3. You might only be able to use 2 channels if you are mixing built in amps with external amps.
teaman
The XPA series Emotiva amps are a great bang for the buck. I agree with mustang guy to make sure the Yamaha allows you to configure the outboard amp first. Also, check the Emotiva forum under "Emporium". Some really nice deals to be had! prerich
I have an older model RX-A3020 and I'm running my B&K for 7 channels (L/C/R/SR/SL/BSR/BSL), using the RX-A3020 to run the Front Presence, and a Yamaha MX-830 to run the Rear Presence. Works fine!!!!!
prerich
I guess I need to finish correcting my signature now
Josh810
Looks like it does have pre outs for the center chanel, the emotiva outputs 200 wpc at 8ohm, just trying to get some opinions on the amp, I'm picking up the Yamaha today but am open to different options on the amp Edited March 15, 2016 by Josh810

The History Kid
IMO, you're going to be hard pressed to find a better value than the XPA line. Some nice clean power, built like tanks...it's a win win win combination when you factor in the reasonable cost.
Ceptorman
Most of the Emo line is on sale right now.

Scrappydue
I'm about to be selling a Xpa-5 in short order. Pm me if you want details before I make a new thread for it.
Josh810
Thanks for your suggestions, I prefer to always buy new. How did you like the Xpa-5?
willland
Thanks for your suggestions, I prefer to always buy new. I can understand the new thing with warranty and all but good quality reliable amplification on the used market can be great bargains over new. In many cases 25% to 40% of retail. I'm about to be selling a Xpa-5 in short order. Pm me if you want details before I make a new thread for it. I am sure Scrappy will treat you right. Having spare channels can be a plus. The History Kid
Thanks for your suggestions, I prefer to always buy new. How did you like the Xpa-5? You won't find an XPA-5 for the price that scrappy will be asking, I'm sure. Not to mention that Emotiva's warranties are transferrable. I'd encourage you to reconsider.
