dtr20
Just curious on what's the real differences between the two speakers. The klf10 is the newer version of the kg5.5, but I heard the kg5.5 is way better than the klf10. Thoughts?
dtr20
Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I probably should have put it in general info

twk123
This is interesting. I imagine they sound pretty similar as both are 2 way with similar horn and dual 10'' woofers, I think the KG 5.5's are cheaper on the used market now though. The KG 5.5's are front ported so you can place them against a wall too.
Shodrewken
I've owned both, and both sounded great, they are very similar speakers. Though it looks like the KLF series (97'-01') was to replace the higher end KG series. The KG 5.5 were made 94'-97'.
oldred
I never owned the KLF 10's.....But I have said this before..... KG 5.5 are by far the best speakers I wish I never sold. G.E.M
slovell
Never owned the 10's but I do own the KLF-20's. I used a pair of 5.5's for 15 years eventually modding them with Crites crossovers, titanium diaphragms and some inner cabinet work which was a big improvement. Did pretty much the same mods to the 20's which, IMHO, made them a much better sounding speaker than the 5.5's. I sold the 5.5's to a friend who is now enjoying them as I did. If you haven't tried any of Bob Crites titanium diaphragms and crossovers in your 5.5's do so.Regards, Sam Edited May 27, 2016 by slovell
