Well I finally got a chance to take some pictures of my

Home Theater setup. This is my first crack at a home

theater but from hangin around here and reading magazines

I have learned a lot and for the budget Im on for a 23 year old

student I think I did pretty good. It sounds

Awesome. I took lots of time to setup the angles and

positioning of the speakers and sub, As well as the

time to wire everything nice and neat and use loom

to cover wires on the floor. For wires I chose acoustic

research they seemed to be a decent wire for the money.

I also used bannana clips on all the connectors

to the reciever and speakers. Heres a List of the parts and the pictures Enjoy.

1.jpg

This shot just shows a picture across the front.

The TV is centered in the middle. The Speakers

are SB3's on 21' Wood Tech Oak Stands with rubber

isolations pads on top and metal spikes on bottom.

2.jpg

My Rack is a TECH Craft TC-WF45B from there wing series. Heres a list of the components. HK AVR510

reciever, Sony NS400D DVD, RCA HT VCR ( dont remember the model )

X-Box , and on the bottom are my DVD's a KLIPSCH Mug,

and a Dolby Digital equiped HT plaque.

3.jpg

This is where my wires enter the wall to goto the rear channels.

4.jpg

Another Front Shot here you see my crappy tv which I will

be replacing with a 27' wega or equivilent flat screen. Here you can see the KSW-12 and my SC-1

center. The TV Stand is a Tech Craft unit as well.

5.jpg

Heres the rear wall where the wires come out and go into my Quintets.

6.jpg

Heres the wires behind the reciever.. Its about as neat as I could get it.

7.jpg

This is just a rear shot by my bed so you can see both rear channels.

Hope you guys enjoyed the pics and id love to hear your comments or suggestions.

HAHHHAHAHAHA Yeah the mugs move from time to time.

Thanks for the positve comments.. I couldnt of done it

without the great group of people we have on this board.

I didnt know all too much about Home Theater before I came here.

I knew a ton about stereos in general and

car audio so I caught on fast but slapping together a home

theater and doing it right are 2 totally diffrent things.

Excellent set-up.

Nicely done.

Well thought out and cleanly executed.

I like that.

You did a great job.

Enjoy the hell out of it.

Although, not too much that you lose focus on school. Smile.gif

These things have a way of drawing you in and not letting go.

Believe me, I know firsthand.

I'm totally encapsulated with my audio gear.

Terribly out of focus.

It all starts innocent enough, though.

First it's a wanting for a good Home Theater.

Then it's all downhill from there. LOL.

Have fun with it.

Looks very nice! As others have said, I wish my wiring looked so neat.

Isn't it nice having a rack with a separate shelf for every component? Up until a couple years ago, I always had my stuff in "entertainment centers" that never had enough shelves, so equipment was stacked on top of each other. Made it tough to work with and keep cool.

Now, I've filled an 8 shelf unit and am starting to embark on the slippery slope of tubes, so it looks like another rack is in order. RossVTaylor, are you listening??

Im glad Each component has a shelf to itself for the

time being.. Next as for upgrades I think I want to

get a dedicated cd player and i should have satelite soon. I may just put the satelite reciever under the

tv but I would like to keep things in one spot for less wires moving around.. So the Sat reciever will

probaly go above the VCR and the CD player with the

DVD since they dont need to much cooling.. Reciever

stays on top by itself Smile.gif

That sure looks much more organized then my setup . Oh well, I guess that is how it is going to be until I pull it all down to repaint the room and give the carpets a much needed steam cleaning (among the other $20,000 plus worth of upgrades this house is going to see, such as a new two-car garage and paved driveway) - which will probably happen this next upcoming spring time.

Oh yes, it does indeed sound awesome! I've only had this system for a few months and I still cannot get over how awesome it sounded.

In due time, you'll eventually get what you ultimatly want. You are still young. Believe me, when I was 23, I did not have anywhere near the system that you have now. I am now 32 (almost 33). Also, ten years ago, alot of this stuff was a hell of a lot more expensive than it is now and not nearly as good.

If you are curious as to what I had when I was 23, look at the attached picture (I'll admit the picture is not a very good one). Yes, that is a 20 inch Zenith TV (which is now down in the basement game room) with a Boom Box used as the speakers (It sounded better than the stock TV speakers). That CD player (bought while in college) and the black VCR (bought at the same time I got the TV) are the same ones contained in my current system. The big silver thing is a second VCR which was the very first VCR (Montgomery Wards) my parents bought (back when a decent model costed over $500) and I took to college (and paid $50 to get repaired because it was eating tapes) when they got a newer one. That thing is over 20 years old now and I still have it in the basement. It still works to this day and displays a pretty good picture. Yes, those two video game systems next to the TV are both a SNES and a Philips 3DO player. That is also indeed a Colecovision (with the Atari adaptor) on the bottom shelf!, which I also still have.

Don't feel too envious as to what others on here have. You got a great system! Enjoy it. Time and money will come if you play your cards right for bigger and better. That is one thing in Audio, like computers, there always seems to be bigger and better.

This house is brand new my parents just built it. So I

had this done before the drywall was installed. Cause I

Definatley didnt want wires going all around my room like

in our old house. It definatley makes for a much neater

Install.
