avguytx
How is the 17" x 12" cover held on the bottom of Belles? Is it just wood screws from the factory? I've seen plans where some used T nuts and 10-32 screws but I wouldn't think they could go too deep as some of them would be in the exposed bottom panel. If it's a 3/4" panel, I'd think the screws would be around 1-1/4" long as to not go through. Just curious. Got to order bolts and T nuts tomorrow. DizRotus
Are you taking one apart, or building one from scratch?
avguytx
Building from scratch.
The Dude
If your using good plywood, screws may suffice as long as you don't have a need to removed them often. Since I used MDF, I will be using Tnuts once I finish mine.
avguytx
It'll be Baltic birch so I may just go with good pan head wood screws and pre drill them first. I don't see me getting into the doghouse that often. (Just with wife) I ordered 50 E-Z Lock flanges threaded inserts for the woofers along with 1.25" 10-32 bolts and washers. longdrive03
Since your building Belles you'll have more elbow room to tighten the bolts than you have on a Lascala. Might get all 8 bolts in. Good luck
Frzninvt
There is also like 3/4" wide but not very thick black foam insulation around the outer border of the hatch to ensure a good seal.
