That must have been a very interesting place to work.

Khornukopia
Using some General Finishes brand Seal-A-Cell and Arm-R-Seal Semi-Gloss here. Each different brand has its own effect, so I try something new each time. The material from the woofer cut-outs was used to line the port holes.

I was just a lowly graduate student, so I never got to work on the "interesting" stuff. I just wrote programs that they ran on the Cray 2 using their data (that I was never allowed to see), and they told me whether it worked or not. Nowadays that Cray 2 is easily outperformed by a PC ... or even a telephone.

Khornukopia
Freshly rotated woofers are ready for more good vibrations. The General Finishes Arm-R-Seal gives the woodgrain a nice look. I might veneer the entire exterior of all these cabinets some day, but the 36"x48" front of the large boxes is the most visible exposed part, so it is just the pretty faces for now.

Khornukopia
I wanted the center cabinet on its side with the lower profile, but the design of the internal braces/baffles kept me from relocating the reflex port. So now I will adjust the width of the treble cabinet.
babadono
Ok, I'm a dummy, do the ports have to be on the floor? Or you just want them there for aesthetics.

I would have relocated one of the ports for the visual symmetry, but I also think these ports were designed to be on the floor for boundary gain.
