Klipsch RF-5 black woofers

It would be interesting to do an A/B comparison to hear the difference between how they are now and with the original woofers.

The original cerametallic woofers dent and crease extremely easily.  Very common to see that on any Reference model.  One woofer in one of my RS-7 surrounds has a crease in it.  Fortunately it doesn't affect the sound.

I'm guessing the original woofers in yours weren't blown, but rather were damaged like that in some way.

I can't tell you how many copper speakers I've seen that were damaged. I've never understood it unless someone has kids, covers off and they whomp em'.  I've owned many reference, never had problems with speaker, feet or grills.
