tigerwoodKhorns
I had a 2020 years ago. Check out this 3020. They sold for $1500 in the late 70s. https://lasvegas.craigslist.org/ele/d/las-vegas-vintage-yamaha-cr-3020-stereo/6849658442.html

JohnJ
Look at that! Yamaha believed in filling the whole house with one receiver three sets of speakers! They had bass, midrange and treble controls! I know, my rx1100 ran a pair in the bedroom a pair in the living room and a pair in the den, wires run all through the attic! nice. old. too much to ask for it. JohnJ
I miss my old one, built like a tank, clean powerful sound, knobs and dials too!
tigerwoodKhorns
Apparently, the 3020 sells for about $2500 or so. I don't miss my 2040. It was nice, but I like the big receivers from about 2000 or so better. They have optical inputs and good DACs along with heafty amps. JohnJ
YAHs from the 90s had way lower thd, mine had the screen go bonkers three or four years ago but still made good sound after being abused since the 90s by me!

My post I know is factual because I looked to replace mine with a newer version and all the multi-channel amps turned me off with their higher thd ratings and lower wattage. Their power amps... they still had some good ones coming out.
