Will a B&C DE120 driver bolt to a K-77 horn?

Recommended Posts

I did some searching and couldn't find an answer to this. If it will work I would prefer to just use the K-77 horns. Currently I have K-77M tweeters on 1981 La Scalas.

The Crites B&C 120 is attached to a drop-in K-77 replacement plastic horn.  I’m all but positive the B&C drivers are not easily attached to genuine metal K-77/T-35 horns.  The Crites 120 requires no modification to the motor boards and has the same appearance as the K-77/T-35 horn.

No.  They will not bolt together.

Question 1 would be WHY?? This modern driver, which is very good, has to have the SYNERGY of a horn lens that was SPECIFICALLY designed for it.

@Dave A built one (sMAHL) that does just that. It allows for much wider dispersion of extreme treble, that is normally too narrow when listening off axis from speaker toe in, and avoids the "buried in 3/4" lumber" acoustic restrictions of the old Klipsch mounting methods.

So, aside from a NO answer to your question, if you want to make an improvement, DO IT RIGHT.
