tripod
Hi, What do you guys think of Fortes? I have SF-2's and really like them, but you know how it is. Always looking for the next step. There are a couple for sale now on eBay. Thanks for any insight you can provide.
Audio Flynn
12 inch version of my Chorus II. More musical than my RB5s I will post a contrast between my Reference and Classic experiences in the next few days. Never heard anyone say acquiring a Forte was a bad decision they regretted! dougdrake
If you find a nice pair of Forte's, you will be blown away by them. Not that your SF-2's aren't also nice, but these are just in a different league. The 3-way design and the strength of their bass gives them a wonderful clarity with some real punch. I love mine! erdric
Tripod, I know you don't know me but please trust every word I type: Get some Forte or Forte II's. I got some a couple months ago and I am consistently stunned by how good they sound. My KG-4's are good but they aren't in the same league as my Forte II's. If I ever get my hands on an Academy my next speaker upgrade will be another pair of Forte II's for my 2 channel system.
J M O N
Both the Forte I and II's are excellent speakers. If you can find some in good condition at a reasonable price, don't hesitate to buy them.
justin_tx_16
My aunt found some Fortes and used my Marantz 500 amp to power them. THey sounded GREAT! She got them for a price that was so cheap it would make your skin crawl. I don't remember the price... but it made MY skin crawl!
Brian HCM#1
You definatly WONT be disapointed with any Forte. I personally prefer the original Forte.
tripod
It sounds like an easy choice for music. The only catch is that I use them mostly (80%) for HT. I think I might run into problems with them not matching my SC-1 center at all.

And actually they still sound great, Its off a bit from the original a/d/s MT 40t's that I just sold, but doesn't bother me at all. Music wise I love them

j-malotky
Tripod The Forte is a great speaker. Get it if it is still available. You hear all the people prising the Heresy on this BBS. Basically a Forte is a Heresy with more solid bass. JM
dsimpson
I was having lots of speaker questions just a couple of weeks ago. I got a lot of great advice here and flirted with buying Heresy, Quartet, Forte and Chorus. People liked all of the models above but when the question of Chorus versus the smaller speakers was asked the general opinion was to buy the Chorus if I had room for them. A pair of Chorus I's were available an hour or so from home and I bought them. My LaScalas are great old friends but these Chorus I's have my attention right now. These speakers are clean and quick; the bass seems especially tight and fast. I like 'em! The Chorus is obviously larger than a Forte but size and sound always seem to go hand in hand with me. Small amp; big speaker; big sound. Whatever you buy, you probably will be happy. I've never heard an older Klipsch speaker that I didn't like. Good luck.
