They rolled this one out at a record pace.  It's a brand new technology.

They've only be working on this new technology for the past 30 yrs.

It didn't take that long for everyone to get in line for the polio vaccine.

So...what exactly is your point?  A blanket indictment of humanity is easy.  Im not acting naively, and not pretending either.  Like you said, it infects us all.  The whole thing boils down to what benefits the thing one most values.  Ideally, the values should remain somewhat consistent in terms of intent and ends.

That appears to be from the San Diego Board of Supervisors meeting on an agenda item concerning the "Covid 19 Response."

As with every topic on an local government agenda, the public is allowed to provide public comment. The amount of misinformation being presented by the public caused the Board to retain and independent panel of doctors (not retired nurses) to address some of the comments being made. This independent panel will monitor all Board meetings where this topic is on the agenda going forward. One of the doctors mentioned that certain comments about pregnant women were so against the data, that it was tantamount to "killing people."

It's not really "political" in the context we use in this Forum, however, it is directly related to Covid 19, vaccinations, etc. The comments I saw in the first two pages were not political in that sense.

However, this is a topic that has been been tried three or four different times, and despite best efforts, has resulted in locked or deleted threads. As such, it's an "off limits" topic, just like guns and a number of others.

OT: Anyone "enjoying" the Herman Cain Awards?

Actually it is directly on topic. Free speech, the right to petition government for a redress of grievances, taken to extremes is what I think the OP was sort of getting at. I wasn't aware of that "award" until I saw this post. A take off on the Darwin Award.

It's one of the reasons I think believe the Covid - 19/Vaccination threads didn't fare well here.

This article discusses it a bit, and confirms that the debate over vaccinations, getting it, not getting it, etc., isn't appropriate for a forum where the overarching goal of the owner is to bring together people with a common interest. Let the disagreements be over capacitors, cables, digital vs. vinyl, SS vs. Tubes, Heritage vs. Reference, Ginger or Mary Ann, will it fly, etc., not on a personal medical decision.
