Strabo Posted January 13, 2003 Share Posted January 13, 2003 We are all here because of our fondness of Klipsch speakers. Why get in a pi$$ing match about which are the best? The RF-7's are great speakers. So are all of the other Klipsch tower and heritage lines. Everyone will like some lines more than others. Some will think the new stuff is the bomb, others will want to bomb them. Thought it was a debate on the merrits of using less floor space, and Klipsch in 2003, but it turned into a "my speaker can beat up your speaker". I'm done. Fortunately, another advantage to this Forum is the low ratio of flamining, self-serving jingoists who proclaim authoritarian pronouncements and tolerate no rebuttal without grade-school vitriol. The fairness of the mainstream contributors to this board and the wisdom of its administrators give every troll an opportunity to prove himself... if only by learning to bring civility into his rhetoric. Surely the members here have turned the other cheek far beyond the biblical prescription... while this pretty little speaker advocate has only bared his. Yep, while patience is a virtue, "DON'T FEED THE TROLLS" seems to work for such "doodle dandies"... I'm learning something everyday. What I DO have a problem with is when debate becomes off-color, personal and pornographic. I think that doesn't belong in it. Just my personal opinion. The whole crux of what pisses me off: Heritage guys that think they have a superior and flawless speaker, and the new stuff just can't compare. Anyone that outright slams systems or calls them mediocre. Elitism and snobbery can KMA. After reading Paul W. Klipsch's book, he admitted the Horns had flaws. Just put in a 1ms pulse, you get 3 out, thanks to group delay. Horn throat resonances and coloration. Overbright upper mids that only level out with tubes and a HUGE room. Rolling off at 17khz, less transparancy than new. Why do I care? Really, it doesn't matter. But it's time to take those rose colored glasses off and admit that there are audible flaws in heritage designs. They are not superior in every way...period, measurable fact. I will end this thread, and my involvment in this forum. It is pointless: rather than experiance, you just post fanboy worship and condescending rhetoric. I submit you are the over sensitive one. If I accomplished nothing here, fine. But know this: No one on the face of this earth can get me to think heritage is better. No one can sway me from sheer enjoyment. This is not a place for posters who can't get beyond bombast and participate in constructive dialogue. Or better yet, build your own "I love speakers too slim to be horn loaded" web site... I've olny been here a few months myself but i've found out in that short period of time that, this kind of thread is not what were about here. I don't want to read this kind of garbage and also don't want to see this side of anyone's personality. I would not wish " newbie"s " to come on line and think this is what we do here. Needless to say, I'm sure he'll be back but under another name. He seems to enjoy doing what he does, and those types always come back but under another alias. All it'll take is a few posts (read: lewd outbursts) from him and you'll recognize his writing style immediately.
