Maybe whoever I quoted. One recently sold for 1/3 the cost of the one someone is selling on Ebay. Cory was selling P312s for 2k, much better deal.

I have researched the HGS18THX Ultra 2, only found 1  sold in the last 2-3 years and sold for $2200.00 before that last one sold for $1780.00

I have a Velodyne 18. It’s not the THX, but was a much better bargain than that. It would certainly be hard to replace for the money.

Cory had P312sw a few weeks ago for $2k and they listed for $4k new. No way a 20 year old sub that listed for $2600 new will sell today for $2550 today. If it sells, the seller had an extremely unknowledgeable buyer.

The HGS18 ( Not the Thx ) Retail vale was $2999.99

The HGS18THX Ultra 2 retail vale was $3999.99S-

I still think it's WAY overpriced.

Considering you can buy 2 Klipsch RP-1600's right now brand new (on sale $1169) and still have change in your pocket yeah I'd say it's a bit over priced. The fact that the seller has referenced an amp repair specialist a few times already for his 20 year old sub doesn't instill a whole lot of confidence either. Now maybe if the sub amp was already refurbished and had some sort of warranty but even then I would think it would be a tough sale.

I picked mine up years ago for $400 to play with my other two HGS-15's supporting a trio of La Scala's.  The servo in these units ensure extremely low clean distortion free bass as it monitors cone movement thousands of time a second.  Yes they are old but even the new Klipsch subs can't dig as deep regardless of what the specifications indicate.  I owned one Klipsch subwoofer a KSW-15 that I bought new and it was a POS.  Boxed in back up and sold it.  The only worthwhile subs Klipsch has ever produced are the RSW line and the THX Ultra's.  The rest are mediocre at best and the self destructing plate amp issues have plagued Klipsch for years.  However, the eBay asking price is well beyond optimistic maybe $500 to $800 tops if it is in perfect working order.  If the servo circuit goes in these getting it repaired will be difficult as the woofer and amp need to be sent together in order to calibrate the servo properly if you can find someone to repair it as Velodyne no longer services these.
