mpgwagon
I can't believe this! Look at this :http://www.homecinemachoice.com/testbench/index.html This shows Klipsch with a two star rating! Worst of any of the speakers listed. What were they really listening to? Klipsch has never made any speaker that deserves this. They got a nasty gram from me. boomer9911
I still can't get over it.....2nd to Bose, now that's truly funny...LOL... Man, I almost spit my beer all over my laptop when I started reading that, to funny, guys been drinking to much friggin tea. Looks like bowling for cubes is the leading activity in North America, 2nd must be listening to music through Klipsch, or is it bowling "with" cubes "while" listening Klipsch, I can see that . bensilb
After reading everyone's response I went back a carefully read the review again. Is this guy out of his mind?!?!? Is he useing the lowest possible amp every made?!? Crazy person!!! I love my Klipsch. If I every upgrade, it will probably Bose: the best. Ha got ya...not a f*****G chance. I don't think I will buy anything but Klipsch. Everyone have fun with their second best system! But seriously how can any "respectable" audio review compare Bose to Klipsch on the level of this guy. I have to say this test is not a scientific test. belial
I don't want to take anyone's ammo away, but from my reading of the review, boa12 is correct--that "second to Bose" comment seems to have been in terms of SALES, which may simply be a matter of fact, and not a judgement on quality. In other words, he is stating that Klipsch is the second best seller in the US, behind the hated Bose. BobG could tell us whether this is true or not. However the rest of the review does clearly slamn Klipsch.
Guest BobG
I do believe the writer was referring to Klipsch's sales through the specialist A/V dealers in the US. There, Klipsch is either first or second in sales depending on what industry statistics you check. Darn it, I was having such a good time reading the LOL posts. Oh well. Fun over. belial
Well, what's even funnier--or sadder, depending on how you look at it--is the thought of all those people who are convinced/swindled into thinking Bose is a better buy than Klipsch. Even if that reviewer didn't mean to imply that, someone out there sure does, or Bose wouldn't be in a number one sales position (if in fact they are). I can still remember the Bose radio my friend's mom had, and how we thought that was IT in terms of high quality audio, like there simply wasn't anything else. Of course, I was 15 at the time, and that was quite a while ago ...
DwK
HAHAHAHAHAHA those poor saps. HAHAHAHAHAHA Bose > Klipsch (Bose =greater than Klipsch) HAHAHAHAHAHA It is kinda sad though, but at the same time I cant help but to laugh at the people, that think Bose is a better buy than Klipsch. I also had NO idea that Klipsch was way up there in sales. Klipsch outsells JBL? Sony? maxg
Try not to judge a nation on the basis of one man's ramblings. I am English (living in Greece as it happens) and own (and love) a pair of Heresy 2's. Firstly the reviewer was certainly talking about 2nd to Bose in terms of sales, not quality. Secondly it is no surprise he did not like the sound. English speakers are much more laid back, his background is different from yours is all. Klipsch take getting used to and its a shock to come from, for example, a pair of missions to an RF3. What we do not know is how long the reviewer lived with the system. When I first heard Klipsch I thought it was a horrible, in-your-face sound (I had Wharfdale speakers). As time past I got used to it and then grew to love it, now I cannot look at any other make. Rest assured that Britain will catch on to Klipsch, but it will take a longer lead in time than most other markets. Just as a complete aside - I think I know why there is a shortage of Klipsch in the US. They are all here in Greece!! I visited 5 hifi retail outfits over the weekend locally. They all had Klipsch products both in stock and on display (with not a single Bose on display anywhere). Each time I asked a salesman for a recommendation on which speaker to look at they all pointed to Klipsch products (they did cary other makes). I would be amazed if Klipsch is not the leading brand in Greece in terms of sales as well as quality. Either the Klipsch distributor is brilliant here or they are shifting a lot of units to a well educated Greek population, or both.

Guest BobG
Maxg, Greece has long been a very good market for Klipsch. I attribute this to two things - 1) The incredible intelligence of the Greek people and eons old civilization. 2) A truly wonderful gentleman as our distributor there, Mr. Nick Laios who also distributes Accuphase and other fine audio products. Hope you get to meet Mr. Nick. If you do, give him my warm regards and tell him I'm enjoying the Ouzo.
Mr-Bob
Ahh yes, this review really proves the point that you can't trust everything you read. I expect that if this reviewer heard a live performance he would give it the same review. After all, Klipsch sounds more like live than any other speaker I have ever heard. For that matter, I doubt he bothered to listen to them. Trust your ears not the opinions of others.
Jo-Jo
I'm new to the whole speaker scene and contemplating the purchase of Klipsch. I've heard about Bose on the radio for a long time, but nothing that ever really sparked my interest. I'll still have to compare to see which speakers have the sound I want, but all the loyalty to Klipsch that everyone here shows is encouraging enough to give them extreme consideration. boa12
jo-jo, yes some people just don't prefer horn loaded speaks. listen to THE horn speaks vs. other regular cone speaks. be sure to listen to other cone-loaded than bose though - imo they just are not a good value anymore if they ever were. many other cone brands that are much better sounding. god's speed. ------------------ Klipsch KLF 30 (front), KLF C-7, Cornwall I (rear) Velodyne HGS-18 sub woofer Monsterbass 400 sub interconnects & Monster CX-2 biwire & Z-12 cable Marantz SR-8000 receiver Sony DVP-C650D cd/dvd player Sony Trinitron 27" stereo tv Toshiba hi-fi stereo vcr Technics dual cassette deck Scientific Atlanta Explorer 2000 digital cable box Boa's Listenin Lounge: Klipsch RF-3 (front), RC-3, cheap little Technics (rear) Monster MCX Biwires Sony STR-DE935 a/v receiver Kenwood KR-9600 AM/FM stereo receiver (vintage 1975) Russound AB-2 receiver switch to RF-3 Teac PD-D1200 5-disk cd changer Technics SL-1950 turntable/AT LS500 cartridge Sega Genesis game player Sub: None yet rock on!
