middlecreekguy
I think this link could lead us to some bands or artists we may have forgotten or didn`t even know about. Who has the best birthday chart topper? Or how many of us have the same song? Just list your songs(from both charts) and we`ll tally the results as we go. Cleve
"Stagger Lee" by Lloyd Price on the American charts - I don't even know the song OR the artist. LOL And it was "As I love you" by Shirley Bassey on the British charts. At least I think I've heard of her.
Cleve
I just pulled up Itunes and listened to the preview of "Stagger Lee" - it sounds like something from the soundtrack of 'The Giant Gila Monster'. eeechhhh! And Shirley Bassey - I couldn't find "As I love You" on Itunes - but she sung many of the well-known themes to James Bond movies (Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever) and, from what I can tell, was a babe then AND now! dougdrake
Cleve - Either you and I share a birthdate, or Stagger Lee had a reasonably long run on the charts. RickB
This game blows. The USA choice doesn't go back that far. U.K. no. 1 was Here In My Heart by Al Martino whoever that is. Man I know there had to be music in the USA in 1953.

skonopa
"The U.S. No.1 on the 1st November 1969 was... Suspicious Minds by Elvis Presley" I've obviously heard of Elvis Presly, but I don't recognize the tune. I probably would if I heard it, though. Then again, I never was a huge fan of Elvis Presly. "The U.K. No.1 on the 1st November 1969 was... Sugar Sugar by The Archies" I've heard of that. Never did like the song, though. I think my parents have that on vinyl somewhere.
