Allan Songer
But without them there would never have been Rock and Roll as we know it. Boogie Woogie

Or have you heard every artist that has made all of the music you enjoy? I trust Allan's answer, but Spacecowboy has not defined that aspect as being the point that is being searched for. A closed mind is a terrible thing to waste. dodger

Putting the last sentence of my first reply and the smile to Allan's, don't these replies seem anywhere not fitting? Especially when it has not been ascertained what the connection is by Spacecowboy? I guess I must be getting too old. But if you are putting a political spin on this, do you know the affiliations of those names? Or how relevant they may not be? dodger
Allan Songer
You can get a nice CD compilation of Boogie Woogie piano greats at all the usual sources for about $15 or so--just look for one with Meade Lux Lewis, Pete Johnson, Albert Ammons, etc. There was a great Mosaic set of the Lewis and Ammons sides for Blue Note but it's long out of print. Great stuff.
