The White Album on eBay

Maybe it's because I'm a 20 year old college student and don't know what it means to have money. But anybody who would spend that much on a peice of vinyl is really wealthy and desperately trying to grab onto the past.

I'd take that money and donate it to humanity (charity) if I had that much to spare instead of a peice of material, but that's an opinion from a idealistic kid.

I guess we all have our own obsessions though.

In this case it isn't even that. All but about $20 of that winning bid is because it's on the Parlophone label instead of Apple. Collectors are funny.

Unfortunately, I only have the cheapo Apple LPs. One of them is numbered however. I have no idea why.

The first pressings were serial numbered. They command a higher price. There were also 8x11 photos of each Beatle that came with the Album.

To note: Some hold on to the past, as they could not afford the product then, collect or wish to have a connection to a part of their life that has gone - for memory of someone else, or for their own memory.

Some hold onto the past as they are afraid of the unknown future.

It has nothing to do with your age ! I think there nuts also LOL !!! But collectors are very serious about these types of things and if it makes them happy so be it.
