dbflash
Read about this yesterday in the new edition of Rolling Stone mag. http://www.b12partners.net/mt/archives/2005/01/tale_of_the_tap.html The RS article said that a maker of reel to reel equipment was planning to start making tape. Sadly,it will truly be a digital world. Danny

Marvel
My digital audio recorder uses Quantegy tape. The recorder uses tape in VHS shells, although a higher quality than normal I should have sold it when I had the chance, eh? Marvel
scott0527
Craps, I wished they used 1/4". I've got dozen blank 10 inch rolls of that stuff. I'd have given Jeff Tweedy a couple fo rolls. I knew I loved Wilco for a reason. I'm going to see them at the end of February at a pretty small venue. Can't wait.
methink
You don't have to give Jeff Tweedy your blank tape yet. I believe there are still other countries that manufacture tape. I think that was the last American company to do it. Tape with be much like tubes, still around just not made here.
stimpy451
Before everyone gets freaked out: Quantegy is slowly ramping production again. Also, there definitely will, we're told, be a new studio quality open reel audio tape manufacturer in Pennsylvania starting in May or early June and maybe even as early as April... Hang in there! They're going to be making very good tape starting with a +6 OL tape which almost everybody should be able to use. This gleaned from usrecordingmedia.com.
