jpm
Now that I'm happy with my system, I'm curious. If I were to consider a powered sub just for music, and wanted to keep it super small and inconspicuous (maybe a 8" or 10" sub max), not to thump the bass, but just to fill in IF needed, do you guys have any recommendations? No Klipsch subs thank you.
donnie
Attention jbm, try a Velodyne SPL-80011, then set your spl calibration to your system. I'm sure you'll be a happy camper.
tpg
You also might be happy with a Sunfire TrueSub Jr. It uses dual 8" in a 9.5" cube. Ultra tiny, and supposedly has a very robest sound.
MrMcGoo
JPM, Take a look at the Sunfire subwoofers. Small but very potent. They are a bit spendy though. The Martin Logan subwoofers are also small but dig deep. Most small subs cannot keep up with the RF-7s. It takes a sub with a huge amp and good EQ. dr-dezibel
If you want powerful tight bass out of a tiny box Sunfire is the way to go. I can assure you can't go wrong with them.

Allan Songer
This is the one: The Linn Sizmik 10.25 Subwoofer. I neve heard a Subwoofer that worked in my 2-channel system until I auditioned this one. I bought it and in the 3 years I've owned ii I have never removed it. kev313
Ikea and Linn must use the same marketing company to name their products. I've heard good things about Rel subs, but have no first hand experience.
meuge
This is a 19" cube - not very small, but not too big - certainly powerful enough to keep up with the RF-7s and has speed and finesse - the Dayton Titanic 15" Kit from partsexpress.com The 12" Kit that Dean recommended is something like a 16.5 inch cube. howismydriving
I would 2nd the Linn. I have heard it, and they are very very nice. I also would recommend a sealed box sub. To me, the bass is faster, and the bottom roll off is much more natural. My sub is DIY Peerless 10 inch sub in a sealed 1.5 cubic foot box. It has a f3 of about 30, but is only 15 db down at 18 hz in room.
