Mighty Favog
I'm looking to see who did the Disco version of "Alzo Sprach Zarathoustra". Somebody on TV is using it in their commercials.
colterphoto1
didn't they all die of coke o.d. in the 80's?

Audible Nectar
I think that is the version from the Peter Sellers film "Being There". If you like this version, grab on a CD set from the Phish Live series.....their live version of ASZ is based on it.

Champagne taste beer budget
Coincidental timing. They're having a "70's Weekend" on one of the local radio stations Fri AM till Sun night. Have one a few times every year. Play everything from Disco to The Carpenters, B.T.O. to The Tower Of Power, Ohio Players to John Denver. Sure, you have to listen to some pretty off the wall stuff that you wouldn't usually listen to, but occasionally you catch a gem that puts you back in high school. First car. First love. First concert. Right now they're playing Little Boy Chase, Get It On In The Morning Now. Good horn section there, too.
lovedrummin
Tom, "Also Sprach Zarathustra (2001)" by Deodato reached No.2 on the pop charts in 1973. It was from an album titled "Prelude". Apparently Deodato went on to work with Kool & The Gang in the lte'70s and early "80s. The album version was about 9 minutes long. If you want more info on Deodato check out www.allmusic.com and do a search with his name. It's one of those sites where it's very easy to waste several hours. Enjoy.
