Tom Adams
During my Heresy II crossover rebuild project, I was talking to an electrical/avionics engineer I work with asking him about solder sleeves. Naturally he asked what I was working on, I told him, and showed him a photo. And he says, "Hey....is that out of a Klipsch speaker?" I tell him yes and ask if he's familiar with Klipsch. He then tells me he owns a pair of Forte's. Well you know what ensues then right? Yep - a looooong conversation about Klipsch and audio equipment. At one point he mentions that he hasn't really kept up with the audio scene in several years and has been happy with his Forte's, a HK reciever, and Denon cd player. He also mentions that he & his wife have been thinking about a new TV and upgrading to HT sound, but she doesn't want "those big Klipsch speakers". Well, he & I talk about DLP rear projection TV's and HT recievers and DVD players and all sorts of cool stuff over the next couple of days as he drags in more A/V mags. He tells me the A/V bug has bitten him again like back when he was in the Air Force some 15 years ago. I don't see the guy for several days and this morning he walks up to my desk and says, "My wife told me I was to tell you that she hates you 'cause all I talk about is Klipsch speakers and the A/V stuff I'm gonna buy." I looked at him and said, "Listen - I do what I can to help out." LOL......... Tom
Mark Hardy
Something similar happened to me when a neighbor who was getting ready to move out of state put his Cornwalls up for sale -- his wife had been bugging him for years to get rid of them and to get something smaller. I bought 'em. That was 1997. I am still thinking about, and talking about, hi-fi topics more than anything else. The aforementioned neighbor's wife was very surprised that MY wife let me bring those two monsters into our house. Little did either know that it'd be the tip of the iceberg... crazytubepower
Don't worry a wife hates me too! It's my dad's wife, aka my mom. She complains that all I care about is audio.
Colin
my wife hates me too, not because of Cornwalls, which I got before marriage, not because of Khorns, which I got while married, but simply because we were married! I don't have the wife, but I still have the horns!
SCOOTERDOG
Yeah my wife thinks I'm nuts too. The funny thing is she sure loves to sit in the HT to watch her movies though. Go figure scooter
Speedball
The other half doesnt understand my interest in audio but she enjoys watching movies too. She especially gets a bang out of hearing voices and sounds coming from between the speakers.

Northshore
I have to say that I have a very understanding wife when it comes to the audio vice. We have been together 20 something years and she helped me carry my first, what I consider real audio equipment to my car when we moved in together. That little system, JBL L-46 studio monitors (used) an Akai tuner(with touch/slide volume control)very cool for it's day and a JVC direct drive turntable. As evidenced by my recent HT completion listed in my profile, she still contributes to my addiction with an open mind and mostly open bank account. Olorin
It sounds like we have similar situations, Northshore. When I announced my intention to sell my Fortes, my wife immediately pounced on them and set them up in the living room.
Joe Shmoe
Hehe...good goin Tom! LOL, My neighbors just bought a big screen TV from some friends of theirs & asked if I would help haul it in my truck. After moving it into the house, I said "OK, so now when are we going speaker shopping?"... his wife escorted me out of the house lol. KlipsDude
Get rid of the wife and keep the speakers! You will have more peace with the speakers than the wife!
