J.4knee
Just read where he lost his battle with Lung Cancer and passed away overnight. Sad to see a peice of journalistic History pass. RIP Peter Jennings.

texxas guy
My very favorite anchor. My thoughts are with his family.
Daddy Dee
He was one of the best at what he did. I wouldn't let my lack of appreciation for his transparent political bias cloud my condolences. He really was good, a real pro. Among the last of a breed of the classic American anchor man.
Mallette
"...transparent political bias ..." I agree. But would add that at least his was honest and transparent. Most of the others would deny their own bias. "Journalism" is dieing with these people. It is hard to tell the difference between the Evening News and Entertainment Tonight. neo33
I *rather* have his "transparent political bias"! My condolence to a respectable man.

Mark Hardy
I remember reading once that Peter Jennings got his original break on-air with ABC due to his perceived resemblance to then-star Richard Chamberlain as "Dr. Kildare". Not a terribly auspicious start, but I guess history demonstrated that Peter Jennings was 'more than a pretty face'. I liked to watch him on election-night coverage. Daddy Dee
I was listening to an interview with Ted Koppel last night... I had no idea that Jennings was a high school drop out. Did anyone else know this? I think he did pretty well.

psg
Came in to work today to find the flag at half-mast. And I work for the Government of Canada, so that tells you something! We still saw him as our own.

Audio Flynn
Peter is head and shoulders more professional than Rather or Brokaw ever dreamed about being. Always watched him when I was on the road for business.
