Lets just say I paid less then a used, decent pair of Heresys go for. Wink [<img src='https://community.klipsch.com/uploads/emoticons/default_wink.png' alt=';)'>]

Ouch, that's just not right! Yes, given that the 10B had one owner and wasn't moved much, I imagine it will sound incredible. I gave up on radio until I got a holdmy 10B. Sometimes would rather listen the radio than my CD player. If you have a couple of decent public radio stations in your area, they seen to be the most palatable as far as quality of broadcast and lack of commercials. I assume you know those things sell for about $1500 to $2500 depending on condition. Great find, you gotta love old ladies.

"At first I thought I'd keep the Klipshorns and sell my Forte's to make up the money. But I can't bare to do that. I'm keeping both and will sell some of my other gear instead."

Good move! And congrats on freeing up the old lady's living room of such clutter! [:D]

Scott, I look forward to hearing the 10B. Unfortunelly in my neck of the woods, crappy big hair rock bands, crappy new country, and soulless new pop rule the airwaves here in the Duke city. I'm most likely going to sell the Marantz to pay for my kept treasures. I'll probably regret that some day, but family bills have to come before me hording too much.

LOL dgb! You must use the force young Jedi, and what you seek shall find you. [:)]

The difference between the Forte and the Klipschorn is pretty dramatic. I've always loved my Forte's and they do seem to be a little on the crisper and quicker side then the KHorns. I'd say for intimate type music at a lower volume that the Forte's might be a better match in my too small room. As you know, the bass on the Forte's is nothing but full and tight, however when I put in my daughter's Matrix reloaded CD with the heavy drum beat track, my heart almost burst with the deep "in your bones" bass the KHorn's unleashed. I haven't had the time to truly A/B the two speakers but I'd say that the Klipshorn lives up to its well deserved reputation IMHO. The Forte however might be a tiny bit more revealing and crisper. (this may be due to the fact that my 1978 KHorns have old capacitors and a crossover (the AA) that seems to be regarded as a bit warm sounding). I'll try to give a more descriptive account of the two and their similarities and difference when I've spent some more time with my new Klipschorns.

Wooddog, Thebes, thanks!. Thebes, aren't you the one with the twin stories a few months ago. Now thats a score! [Y]
