Name that Tune - No Cheating Using Computer Word Searches

How about corrections?

The hauntingly beautiful "Long Black Veil", although recorded by him, is not a Johnny Cash tune. Nor was he the first to record it.

Joan Baez and the Kingston Trio, among others, recorded it before he did.

And The Band were doing it over three decades before DMB (yuk!).

[;)]

The song does have a listed composer, but it's one of those old backwoods 'merican hillbilly tunes that borders on being categorized as "traditional".

"And I'm not sure what the trouble was,

that started all of this.

The reasons all have gone away,

but the feeling never did.

It's not something I would reccomend,

but it is one way to live.

Cause what is simple in the moonlight in the morning never is.

Cause what is simple in the moonlight now is so complicated.

Cause what is simple in the moonlight, so simple in the moonlight,

so simple in the moonlight..."

Name it :)

Awwww.... For such a popular song, I thought I was getting back into a little more mainstream in order to keep the thread moving. I'm giving it away.

Badfinger, "No Matter What." Now, you are all going "I knew that!"

Next:

"Helpless people on a subway train

Scream bug-eyed as he looks in on them"

Name that Tune!
