Chicago_Pete
Hi Guys, I just scored those Cornwalls that you may have seen listed on Audiogon. These things dont have a mark on them, stone mint. Had them home within an hour, local transactions are the best. I have never heard Cornwalls until now. I understand why all of you rave about them, man they sood good! The seller was a super nice guy and extremely flexable on his asking price. He claimed he bought them new around 1981. Type: C-BR. Serial Nos. 16S821 & 16S822. Does that sound about right? Thanks, Pete
travisc
congrats on the score. I know the feeling. S=78 I believe, Someone will chime in on whether I am correct or not.

Chicago_Pete
Thanks for the high fives. I have been trying to figure out how to post some pics. Kind of lost on that front. Any help would be appreciated. Pete
Radiohead
So how do the new Cornwalls sound compared to the 62 Khorns?
Chicago_Pete
Comparing both I have to say that the line is a whole lot thinner than I expected. I thought that the K-Horns would total these Cornwalls, not so. I haven't even messed with speaker placement yet. They are really something. Not sure why I bought them? The wife left town on business and 10 Miller Lites later it just made sense:) True story. Pete

(ok, maybe skootching them in the corner a bit increases the bass), but I've found that CW's sound good just about any configuration I've tried. And I've tried a lot. jheis
Congrats on the score! I've got a pair of '81 demo's that I bought as a starving student in '83. It's one of those purchases I've never regreted for a second. No matter how tough things got, I never considered selling my Cornwalls. Enjoy. " Park them right in front of the Klipschorns and just wire them in parallel, use a good 100W+ solid state amplifier. Play Talking Heads 'Burning Down the House' at threshold shift.
