Does anyone that went to Hope, AR remember what Horn and driver this

is(see image below)? I remember models numbers being mentioned but I

was a tad bit overwhelmed and can't remember. The other Jubilee had a

larger tractrix horn as well but what driver was on it? Any info

appreciated.

Thanks

Seti

Well, in any case, it doesn't appear that they are "ready to go" by any means. There is alot of stuff that needs to be done in order to get these ready for production and sale. So don't hold yer breath, kids.

Did any of you guys see the crossover(s) - that is, where were they located on the horn...

Here is my take and comments on the bare-naked Jubilees shown so far - take it with a grain of salt!

Basically, they are just the black-painted HT versions with a front piece of wood and some grills attached. BTW, the painted HT ones are not priced too high to make a nice domestic set from, if one has the inclination and ability.

Dana,

The ones we heard in Hope had electronic crossovers and two amps. Roy advocates that as being the way to do them. He said "Amps are cheap"

By the way, after hearing the commercial one with the large format horn, I decided it was finished no matter what it looked like.

Well those are prototypes and the word is that there will not be a Jubilee other than for pro theater.

The Jubilee was passive no internal crossover and in PWKs lab listening

room they were using a Behringer(may be misspelled) electronic

crossover. The sound was suberb! Amazing! Stunning! I couldn't believe

that much sound could acurately come out of a two-way design. That is

why I was wondering what horn/driver was being used for the the mid to

high frequencies.

Please allow me to remain sceptical, you guys.

The fact that they haven't shown you the finished goods is indicative that the development of a "domestic" Jubilee is on the back burner, to say the least.

Actually, the fact that they showed you an unfinished product is enough to deduce that it is not very high on the agenda at all. So I would not expect a domestic (furniture-quality) product anytime soon.

Another issue is that there is no passive crossover for it. That will KILL the domestic version, for sure, as would the giant top horn as used in the HT version. So...

I think the painted HT version bass bin is the way to go, and fix it up as needed. I also think that Klipsch has arrived at this idea, too. Maybe they have been there all along.

That is a most reasonable assumption. A few years ago it was looking

like a good bet there'd be a home version, but not anymore. When I

asked Fred about it, he said something to the effect: "Where in the

hell would anyone put it? Who has room for it?" He didn't seem to think

it was worth the effort for what he anticipated the sales figures would

be.

I don't think that is a good argument for that matter where would you

put a Klipschorn. The Jubilee doesn't even need corners.

There are some big ugly speakers on the audiophile market. If you build it and market it they'll buy it. Oh well make your own.

Well, at least I drew some correct conclusions!

Now if I could only hear a pair without having to build them!

Did you guys hear them free-standing or in corners - and with mismatched high frequency horns? Any EQ's involved?

DM

They were in corners.

The horns were mismatched and I am not sure if there was eq. We were

just listening to one Jubilee and we were amazed it was just the

one. Then before we left someone asked if we could hear both and they

were kind enough to indulge us and let us all cram into the listening

room. The Klipsch employees were great they answered our questions and

were great hosts.
