BEC
Klipsch sells it with a tweeter as the KPT-Jubilee 535. Bob
seti
I would personally prefer the smaller tractrix horn but that large tractrix looks too cool. I got it on good authority that those were the horns used in Hope.
sunnysal
ok I guess it uses a 402 horn, but I wonder if they swapped out the normal driver for something with more top end extension...tony
Marvel
We haven't heard anything lately from the guy who bought the commercial models for his HT. There were some issues with quality that he was trying to get addressed by Klipsch and he was pretty upset that it wasnt' moving. seti
Didn't he think he was getting something more like a veneered k'horn but ended up with a black painter pro cinema which doesn't have all the polished edges etc... Otherwise I thought he was pretty happy. I couldn't imagine having the procinema Jubilee in my house WOW. I hope he chimes in and sets us straight. I'd love to hear his impressions after having it for a while now.
Marvel
I thought it had to do with some sloppy construction, not just hat they were black. I believe he knew that. I can't find his old posts, but searching on 'jubilee' just brings up too much.

Marvel
I finally remembered his sig (6foot8). Here was one of his posts about his system: I feel for ya dude. I can relate to your situation. I bought a pair of Jubilees and there were "problems" with the woofer horn cabinets. The result was I shipped them back per Klipsch. I was advised they did not meet current specs and that they would be replaced. The end result is that I got the original pair back with black caulk on strucutal joints and the other problems were never addressed. I spent a lot of money on these and have been a loyal customer since 1991 with numerous new product purchases over the years totaling in the tens of thousands of dollars and I still got treated like a chump stain. Bottom line is you'll have to fix these yourself or find a good cabinet maker to fix these factory flaws.
Deang
Ouch. He's not very specific about what the "factory flaws" are. Personally, I think only those in the Klipsch shop are qualified to determine what constitutes a factory "flaw". They were sent back, Klipsch checked them out, fixed whatever problems they felt needed to be addressed and then sent them back. There was some huge cinema stuff in Indy when we went in June. Sure, it was a bit rough looking, but it wasn't butt ugly either. Hey, it's designed for behind the screen applications. IOWs, it needs to perform as specified and withstand the onslaught of popcorn and coke it will be exposed to over its lifetime.
Marvel
I think he and BobG went back and forth over it a few times later in the thread. I just didn't want to wade thorugh all of the posts to get there. It's not that hard to cut the parts to fit, even if you do paint them black. It's not like they don't have a good shop either. Deang
I like to give Klipsch the benefit of the doubt. Everything I've ever bought from them has been perfect, and they've always been very good to me. How's your other half Bruce -- is she O.K.? I sometimes wonder more about how you're doing. Marvel
Dean, She started whole brain radiation today. She has lost some moter skills and isn't as articulate as she was, even a month ago. Since she worked as a copy editor and proofreader, this has to be hard on her. I'm taking some time off of work right now, as we try to get things stable. The time together is precious. Having Thanksgiving at her sister's house, and all the kids are here. We have some hard talking to do. She doesn't want to give up, but she also doesn't want to go through other awful treatments, that statistically have very low success rates. In one month the mets in her liver, lungs and spine have multiplied. She now has numerous ones in her brain, with one of them quite large. Surgery is out. Just loving her a day at a time. We stopped to see her surgical oncologist yesterday, who has been out of the picture for months once the cancer had metasticised. She told him that it wasn't in our hands. His comment was 'you're a strong woman.' She reminded him that he was the one who told her that. She is so full of grace and relying on the One who is not surprised by this at all. Bruce ps I would like to give Klipsch the benefit of the doubt as well.
bodcaw boy
let me clear up so things so that the guessing can stop. both jubilee lf bass bins were acoustically the same. they just have different wrappers. the hf drivers on both horns were K-1132 drivers. the large hf horn is called a k-402. the combo of the 402 horn and 1132 driver is called a Kpt-402-hf. the small hf horn is called a k-510. we do not have a combo of the 510 and 1132 driver so I can't give you a theater model number. the acoustic crossover of both systems were identically set at around 800 Hz. the slopes were 24 db/oct LR filters. Digital delay was used on both systems, mandatory in my opinion. very little eq was used on the lf bins. the hf horns require the typical amount of constant directivity compensation to bring it back to a flat power response which in this case corresponds to a flat frequency response. I did this demo to demonstrate to all the want-to-be-jubilee-owners that an alternative exists and, in my opinion, offers a better sound quality experience by adding additional components. You would need some sort of processor, digital preferred, that gives you the features of 24 db octave filters, some peq adjustments and filter shelving and most importantly, delay. Then of course you would need 4 channels of amplification for stereo. So to recap, 2 kpt-khj-lf 2 kpt-402-hf or 2 k-510 horns and 2-k-1132 drivers 1 2in/4out (minimum) processor (digital if possible) 2 stereo amps. If anyone ever ventures to do this, I can supply you with the info to get you closer to experiencing a jub system, that in my opinion, is the best way to experience one... roy delgado

colterphoto1
Thank you Roy. You might just be the best salesman Klipsch has for the use of these professional theatre units in our homes. I for one intend to one day own a Jubilee setup similar to what you demonstrated. It was the finest sounding system I have ever heard in my life. I really enjoyed our talk over lunch in Hope this summer. Thanks again for taking time out for us. Michael (the 'curly one')
Chris Robinson
Dean, She started whole brain radiation today. She is so full of grace and relying on the One who is not surprised by this at all. Bruce Bruce, my thoughts and prayers go out to both you and your wife. I would be a total mess, but I'm sure you both have had your moments too. I saw your post in the guest book for Lynn. This just tells me what kind of unbelievable folks you are. God bless you both during the upcoming months. If there is ANYTHING we can do here, please ask away. Chris

bodcaw boy
Dear Bruce, I don't know you or your wife but I already know about your faith and that speaks volumes to me about you both. I want you to know that I share in that faith in the One who is taking care of your wife and you. I will offer up prayers for you and your wife. God bless. roy
