Deang
Minty K-55-V's with the soldered lugs. No wiggle room on these -- $300 firm.
Frzninvt
These are the creme' de la creme' as far as the Atlas drivers go IMHO. I run them in all my speakers with the exception of the mains running the K-55M's which run a close second.
Corvette6769
During what years were these used? Why is the K-55-V with the dual phasing plug more desirable than the K-55-V with the single port phasing plug? What is a phasing plug? Frzninvt
1980 - 1982 tops The response is more uniform and it eliminates the 9Khz glitch that a certain percentage of the spring terminal K-55V's suffer from.
@silverfox@
I use to expreience this glitch, and have always heard it beign refered to as 9khz, recently i got a set of bob's networks and haven't heard it since .could this glitch be caused by bad cap. has any one who perviously experience this ,found that by recapping their network no longer hear this, just curious,[8] errol
Corvette6769
I am still wondering, what is a phasing plug?
Deang
"In a compression driver for a horn, this is a device conveying sound energy from the large diaphragm to the smaller throat of a horn in such a way that, over most of the operating frequency range, sound originating at all parts of the diaphragm arrive at the throat in phase. See: Horn, Compression Driver, In Phase, Throat."

Al Klappenberger
Guys, Here's some pictures of the 2 piece phase plug taken when I had one apart to replce the diphragm. It's lit by a flashlight from the diaphragm side. Al K.

BS Button
Is it....two part, dual port, two pc., dual part, or what? There may be an advantage down low for the single port and an advantage up top for the two port, or part or whatever. But, there was, is, an issue with the 9khrz glitch, especially if it's audible (that's probably debateable, and I won't go there).
