scott0527
I thought your name was N. O. S. Valves? He's a plumbing wholesaler. Only those faggy british guys call "tubes", "valves".
Audio Flynn
Call Brent Jessie or similar I smell a real stinky fish at that auction. Like a said and will say again. I am not a vintage tube expect or salesman. Advise about NOS tubes on any forum is questionable at best!! Call a pro if you want the truth. A number of them exist and base there reputation on what they know and advise. I personally can hardly stand to read the forum format at AA so did not read through it. Craig I think AA would be easier to navigate if it was in WIN 3.1 file system. Proobably great info for those that can tolerate the usewr interface. meagain
I just got my kt88's and can listen to music again! Going to let them come to room temp from being on the truck. Can't wait to fire up the "TRD's"!!! Canyon - I was just curious about the German aspect of these Amperex (for the Peach pre). I'm wondering if they might be mfg'd by another company, and why they seem to be an anomaly, etc.
jcmusic
Megain I only asked because, I just got a mirror matched pair from my tube source. I use them in my phono pre amp and I think they are really nice sounding tubes. Jay
meagain
Canyon - So you have orange labeled Amperex that say Germany also? If so, do YOU know anything about them? Or at least a price point? I fired up the VRDs. I learned alot tonight. And I think my ears are a hell of alot better than some may think. I am happy. NOW...... (took a while - had a mini panic attack).... But so many questions about tubes.......
jcmusic
Megain I got them about a month ago, they are not cheap. My tube source hooked me up for $52.00 each, I think they cost a little more than that. He may still have some more of what he calls perfect picks, they are a little bit cheaper than NOS. The ones I have came from Germany 42nd week of 1972. They are marked Amperex with orange labels, they are described as having that open airy sound. NOSValves
Do they happen to say east or west germany? Most tubes of that era would.
