colterphoto1
He never let stardom go to his head. That voice was a real gift. RIP Brad.
capo72
I think Brad definately had one of the most unique voices rock music has ever heard. I think Boston Third Stage is still in my personal top 10 album list. Jeremy

Moderators Amy Posted March 12, 2007 Moderators Share Posted March 12, 2007 Sad news indeed. Boston was my very first "favorite" rock band. He had an amazing voice.
kaiser SET say
Indeed OB! Brad's great voice behind Tom's genious made Boston one of the best Rock Bands ever IMO[] Now I have to cue up that CD[]
whamo
I was fortunate enough to see them in 1978. Boston didn't tour much. A great show. Sammy Hagar opened.
Raider
I remember when the first album came out there were rumors that Boston had taken most of the popular rock songs and used a computer to analyze them, and used the output to produce the album. ( Ironically, with the computing power avaliable today, pattern and trending applications available, you could probably actually do something like this these days.) The rumor I think was really an obtuse way of recognizing how tight and focused the first album was right out of the gate as a first recording, and explaining the fact that it was one of those rare albums that really didn't have a weak cut on it; basically from a band no one had heard of before. I've noticed that many of the really classic bands have a way of executing the very basic elements in a way that creates a sound much fuller than it should be; the Stones, ZZTop, and Boston come to mind in example. JCturboT
If this is in fact true it is truely sad- http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment/story.html?id=1f27cabe-643f-4e39-a18e-953d978ada61&k=55126 Jeff
Klipsched with Yamahas
While I never had the chance to see them, I've always been amazed on their engineering techniques and creativity. Truly a sad day, and on the day celebrating my 50th. Guess this day will be long remembered by many Boston enthusiasts! Maybe a multi-album tribute is in order this week in rememberance. RIP BD
rplace
What a fantastic first album that was. Still holds up today as great music. It was the first "Real" rock LP I bought with my own money when I was 12 or 13. I played it to death. Later I bought the CD not once but twice because my collection got stollen out of my car. Since getting back into vinyl I bought the CBS 1/2 speed and the Simply Vinyl release. I turn it up and rock out on a regular basis with it on the Khorns. Sad news indeed. oldbuckster
Death Ruled a Suicide..................Another Rock Star takes his life, What's with these guys? What a shame, what could that bad, that a man needs to take his own life? I don't understand...............Suicide, in my opinion, is a very selfish final act, with no thought of the people you leave behind. Such a pity, one of Rocks Greatest Debut Albums................PERIOD.......Hope he found what he was looking for...........R.I.P. SteelerFan
Saw them twice back in the 70's and enjoyed both concerts immensely. RIP Brad.
PhilMays
It's sad. I saw them headline in 1979 with Van Halen & The Outlaws, On that day, Boston rulled the roost with amazingly enough The Outlaws as a close second.
