My new subwoofer project

The top still needs the 1/8th inch round over on both top and bottom
surfaces, and all the maple needs to be sanded. ( by me when I have a
chance ) No less than 3 coats of urethane on each surface of the maple.
( sealing it fully on both sides )

As far as paint goes, I will have probably close to 20 hours in paint
alone ( wiping down, sanding, priming all exterior surfaces of the MDF,
filling a few screwholes ( where the sides were screwed down for
routing of the driver and PR holes ) sanding, wiping, blow tack, base,
clear etc.

I am retentive when it comes to paint. I will not turn out anything I
would not accept, and I am a very fussy person. I will be sanding and
buffing the clear with 3m Perfect-it compounds after it is sprayed.

The woodwork is truly heirloom quality, hard maple that is just
gorgeous. Of course an undertaking like this is not a project for the
average person. This requires a large amount of time and money.
Precision work and the best materials do NOT come cheap. Neither is
knowledge. Building jigs that will only be used once or twice, setup
time, etc, all costs.

I just am fortunate to have a family friend who builds furniture for a
living, and can identify possible problems before they happen, with
assembly process, finishing, and so on. He is very busy, works by
appointment only, and has a waiting list. ( I had to wait from June
until now! )

Fit and finish are truly top notch. I am more than happy with how it
was put together. Now I have to find the time to do final paint and
assembly, and tune the PR's. Today and yesterday was hectic, with
little time today to take a few pictures.
