rowooo
Guys...I ran across a site a few months ago the had a extensive overview of the entire Mcintosh line. I can't remember the name of the site, it had some pretty good tech information, details, and pictures. Does anyone have any insight on this sight. Thanks... Mike Lindsey
This thread is over 5 years old... and I would say that was about the last time I saw Rowooo post. Having said that I believe there are numerous McIntosh websites now. I know of a few: http://www.berners.ch/McIntosh/en/McHome.htm http://www.mcintoshaudio.com/ http://www.audioclassics.com/ http://www.classicaudio.com/value/mac/ Mike
Guest " "
Those prices for used gear are pretty high. 33% - 50% higher than ebay and audiogon prices. You'd never know by looking at these prices that prices for used Mcintosh gear is actually dropping.

I also recently sold a MR78 with a big blemish on the back where there was a rust spot for $900 16 minutes after I listed it! Don't forget, Audio Classics units are completely checked out and up to spec. That IS worth a little more.
joshnich
I concur. I would certainly buy and pay more for gear from audio classics. They are great. You know what you are getting. Josh
Guest " "
"I don't know . . . . I just sold a MC2105 for $900 and a C-32 for $800." For the last few weeks and for probally another 30 days, anything you put up on ebay will do extra good. It's called tax refund season. This is a good time to sell, but not a good time to buy. I'ts no fun bidding against folks with feedback scores of less than 10 who just recieved their long awaited tax refunds and are deterimned to win a few auctions. I have been selling off a lot of stuff i don't need anymore and waited til the tax return season to list them. I have not bee disappointed. Are you saying 900 for an MC2105 is a high price or low one? I checked a few of the items on the below sites. MX HT processors are going for 1200 or less on ebay, but the sites have them for 1800 and above. MSD4 and DAC-3 are going for 750 and below on ebay but the sites have them for 1200 - 1800. I could go on, and , on. My MC-2000 that I paid 9K for is listed on the below sites for 14K. Give me a break. Shop around and you will beat a lot of these prices. My take is that these folks get the stuff from ebay, dust it off , and mark it up. Ebay is flooded right now with prior model Mcinotsh stuff. Theirs an outfit called IsoldIt who has been listing all kinds of recent model Mcintosh stuff with no reserve and it has been going cheap. If you are worried about getting rip off on ebay, put the sale on a credit card or a visa debit card so you can do a charge back...no questions asked...by your credit card company. greg928gts
That's true, it IS the season isn't it? I have to admit that I haven't been keeping up with McIntosh value trends. I thought I did real well on all three McIntosh pieces that I recently sold. I didn't think I would get quite that much. I more than doubled my money on those pieces, even after a couple of repair bills. I spent some time cleaning them really well and I took good photographs which certainly helped.
