RoadconeTuning
I've started using this to test my setup for distortion and whatnot... And I was AMAZED at how my f3's took every bit of power that my onkyo805 could throw at them... And with not a hint of distortion... My b-3s would nearly explode WAY before I got into the higher volumes with it... Just wondered who else used this song.... It a current favorite of mine
TNRabbit
Morph the Cat is an outstanding CD; I wish they'd release it on SACD. Have you tried "Everything Must Go" from Steely Dan (2003 or 2005..?)

bliss53
Fagens Night Fly album is another very good recording on vinyl. It can really sniff out a good turnable. Morph is also one of my favorites.
greg928gts
Morph and EMG both have heavy solid bass. They are tipped bass heavy though, they'll make other really good recordings sound a little thin. These recordings are a good example of great engineering. It's about the guys sitting behind the board. Greg
mbajner
I too use this as a reference when auditioning speakers Made a trip to Audio Consultants to listen to some B&W speakers last Friday and brought Morph the Cat with me Even the sales guy like the sound of this CD I am starting to get sick of this CD since I played it too many times already Still a great reference CD A side note: some of the B&W speakers do sound very good Of course their prices are high

tromprof
There is a higher def. version of Morph the Cat available. It is in the DVI-DVD set of the Nightfly Trilogy ($53.99 at Amazon). Sound is far superior to the regular CD if you have a quality DVD player like my Sony ES unit.

I read somewhere that the quality had alot to do with the fact that Fagen was heavily involved in the whole process.

I got it at borders.com for $42.69 with free shipping using 30% off promo code sla5217e. I am not sure if this is a public code or whether it is tied to my email address.
