  1. You'll probably want to move the sub away from yourself anyway. I'd position it with the port facing into a corner. This yields optimal results.
  2. The "music note" on the control pod is a line-in, not a mic input, sorry. You need to connect it to your computer's mic-in directly.
  3. I would personally recommend upgrading your RAM to one gig. It's a relatively inexpensive upgrade, and it would vastly improve your computer's speed in some situations.
  4. If you liked the Wanamaker, you have to go to France and hear some of the organs they have there. St Sulpice and Notre-Dame among others. Their reeds are the best. Period. They also have a knack for making large-scale 32' Contra Bombardes. But we have some pretty nice ones right here too. Go onto the AGO NYC site and go to some concerts.
  5. The 5.1 control pod is the only one that can be used with the 5.1 sub. I'd simply detach the 4.1 controller and sell it on ebay.
  6. Nothing at the moment, but when I do much, Peanut Chex Mix is good stuff.
  7. Yeah, I've seen this before. The chain must be hundreds of pages long now.
  8. Replace the fuse. Even if it doesn't look shot, it probably is.
  9. I gotta admit, that's a pretty sweet looking car. But... I wouldn't take it over a good Klipsch rig. Plus, it's an automatic.
  10. My PM4.1's totally murder organ music (You can barely tell a Bourdon from a Trumpet), but they do exceptionally well with Jazz music. Just the overall impact and the brightness of the horns are presented well. Clarinets, well, they're another matter, I haven't found anything that reproduces them well today. Maybe it's because I'm a clarinetist and I know what one sounds like so well. But trust me, run Sing Sing Sing through these babies and they can really give an amazing presentation. Metal and other rock are also presented fairly well, with classic rock being "good" but not outstanding.
  11. Pretty simple - get rid of your bed to make room! You'll be so happy with the LaScalas, the floor won't seem so bad.
  12. Here's a trick I learned on Audiokarma: Turn the volume pot left to right about 40 times, quickly (less than 2 seconds for 0 to max to 0). Static was gone on mine after that. Also, a few shots of deoxit, which you can buy at Radioshack, might fix it. I have an SX-3700 myself and while I've never coupled it with any Klipsch, it's a very well-built receiver, supposedly one of the last good Pioneers made. Once I get some Klipsch (Christmas is coming up, oh yeah), maybe I'll have someone recap it for me, I've heard that improves the sound.
  13. I drive a '97 Honda Civic (actually my dad's). It's not a bad car, got a good 37 MPG last time I calculated, but it needs a new clutch quite badly and the radio's dial is a little weird. If money was no object, I have no idea what I would drive. All I know is it would need to be cool, shiny, red, and have lots of muscle.
  14. Awesome joke! Thanks for sharing. Gotta send this to a friend.
  15. Sure, it's easy to do. Unscrew the screws around the edge (8 of them), and pull her out, should come right out.
  16. The ones we like don't have sauce in them, but we put ketchup in them. My dad grew up in Philadelphia and this combo seems to work well.
  17. Those aren't from Katrina, are you kidding? They're from out in the midwest I believe, and one of them even blatantly shows a tornado.
  18. The question is, why would you want to? Sure, you can split the front and rear signal outputs, but why do you essentially want 8.2? I can understand wanting the extra sub, but that's it.
  19. Anyone got recommendations for a good 17" LCD? I'm coming from a 17" CRT which is starting to show its age. General use is just suring the internet, typing, etc, but I do play graphics-intensive games with motion like America's Army, URU: Agea Beyond MYST, and even a little Warcraft III and Starcraft. I also watch a DVD on occasion. So basically, I want nice, rich colors, as little motion blur as possible, and I want it to be nice and sharp. I don't want to see the individual pixels, nor do I want it to be blurry. So I was looking at the Dell 17". Anyone have any experience with these? They actually sell three monitors, one of them looks rebranded, and then there are two higher models. I was looking at the middle one since it says it has 16 ms response time instead of the 25 that the higher one has. Then again, the higher-end one's contrast ratio is 1000:1 instead of the lower-end's 500:1. I really don't exactly know how that affect the monitors, so hopefully you guys can help.
  20. That's even better. But some people, coughbonzocough... don't even have the patience or sense to pick up the phone.
  21. I like Macro. But I can also take some nice landscape shots: And these shots were actually taken during a lightning storm at around midnight while we were on vacation in Maine. It was pitch-black except for these random bursts of flashes. I set the exposure to 5 secs. and got some good stuff. I apologize for them not being perfect. I was inside trying to shoot through the window and couldn't see a thing unless the lightning was lighting things up.
  22. My take on the original poster's situation is that mistakes do indeed happen, though in such an expensive product they shouldn't, which is why Klipsch has a 5 year warranty. The original poster should have simply shipped the intermittently working ones back to Klipsch (shipping out of Klipsch's pocket if possible) for replacement rather than ripping them apart. No idea how much experience he had in taking apart speakers, but he could have harmed something, and then guess what? Damage you cause isn't covered by warranty. So Klipsch is willing to fix situations like this if we let them.
  23. If Klipsch could make solid products like we're all combing ebay for since they're so hard to find, surely they could come up with something better now with the latest technology!
