  1. I never really understood the Bose bashing. Do Bose speakers sound like klipsch? No fricken way. But we can list a hundred other speakers that don’t either. Some people like the sound of Bose just like some people think a Linn turntable is the end all. I personally am not a fan of either but I certainly cannot know what others hear. They obviously hear somethings that I do not. But if everyone heard what I hear there wouldn’t be as many manufacturers of audio equipment as there are because everyone would own what I have.
  2. What was your issue with iTunes? Just curious. I now use Roon and think its the cats meow. I used JRiver for some time and quite honestly I preferred iTunes. That was probably due to the fact that I know my way Mac OS and I struggle with windows - I was using JRiver on a windows based server.

Not sure what and where you’re reading anything that remotely would spark this type of response. I don’t think I have read any post on this forum that significantly dissed klipsch speakers -a disgression that you aloude to In you post.
  4. Yep. They are out most every night. Unless its raining! This is the Oakland / Alameda estuary so it is much calmer all the time than the bay. Ferry goes from SF to Alameda and Jack London Square in Oakland. This was taken as the ferry was leaving the Alameda dock.
  5. Off the back of the ferry on my way home.

    Elon's "BFR"

My Vote would be with Elon as well. In regards to AV's. I do believe that you are correct and that AV's will be here sooner than anyone expects and that the roads will be overwhelmingly safer as a result. I also believe that folks will very quickly buy in and embrace the technology. I also believe that there will still be a need for analog cars - at least I hope there is. At any rate it will be interesting to witness this all unfold.

    Whatever. I still like driving.

    Elon's "BFR"

She can set it on auto pilot when she is commuting in traffic and it stays in the lane and maintains a timed distance from the car in front of her. During her commute she has international conference calls and she can take notes etc. The feature has been very useful for her. I use it sometimes just for kicks. But you are correct I would not find it very useful for me! I personally like driving a car. I have only owned one non truck that wasnt a stick. I would not have own the Tesla for my primary car. But that is just me.

It is truly a remarkable car. Incredible technology and it is a joy to drive. Bought it for the range and the ability to use the diamond lanes for a very long commutees it was expensive but when you factor in no gas bills - with her commute can really add up. Nothing really to maintain - brakes last for ever due to the electric motors providing braking. No oil changes etc. Once a year you pretty much just change the cabin air filter and that's it.

Its pretty much here. My wife drives a Tesla and the autopilot is pretty incredible. Technology for Fully autonomous is pretty much here - just waiting for regulations to catch up.
  14. Yes I am from the Bay Area. I was actually born in New York state but I have lived in the Bay Area for 61 years so I consider myself a native! Grew up a Giants fan and as such have a visceral reaction to anything Dodger. And yes the best ball player of all time is Willie Mays. And I to hate that video. The best part of that at bat was when it happened the national broadcast showed the parking lot and it was filled with cars leaving. Who leaves a World Series game in the 9th inning? Dodger fans, that's who!
  15. I am with you. The dodgers are the evil empire as far as Im concerned. Lets go 'stros!
  16. I have a Bluesound Node2 and a couple of their wireless speakers. I actually bought the wireless speaker to use on my deck. The only way I could use it and have it play in sync with my two channel set up was to also use the Node 2. Works pretty well. I only use the Node when I want to play my wireless speaker with my two channel set up. The node can access my NAS via my wireless network and can also stream Tidal. I do run it through my Benchmark DAC 3 so I really cannot comment on the DAC. Its actually a pretty inexpensive way to have a music server - if you have a way to load music on a NAS. I am actually not a huge fan of the Bluesound interface. I find it somewhat clunky. But that is probably just me! I have to say that the use of the descriptor "streamer" is interesting and somewhat confusing - at least to me! I guess when people use the term streamer, it is meant to describe a piece of hardware that accesses music on the internet. If that is the case a streamer doesnt really stream anything - it actually just receives a stream. In that context, your computer is a streamer as is an ipad or even an iphone. Am I missing something? J
