  1. Silver, if you decide to pass on those Teak Cornwalls, please let me know.
  2. Check these beauties out! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3044148936&category=14993 They don't come much cleaner than this. Wow!
  3. There's a McIntosh C22 preamp on ebay right now. I does look nice Allan. There's O-bids, but starting price $2K. Looks to be in very good condition.

  5. In the words of that great scholar, and master of the police truncheon, R. King Can't we all just get along!
  6. Sunnysal, I will be purchasing the system around Xmas time. If I had to put a price on it, right now, I'd say around 5 grand max. As for the room, well, it's difficult to say something about the room, because my I have'nt built my permenent/final residence. Where I currently live, I plan on installing the system in the Master Bedroom, which is a pretty good size, approx. 26ft x 20ft; at least that's what the carpet people told me when the measured for carpeting. With a little luck and some hard work, I hope to move back home (Laredo, Tx) within a 2 years. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Gary: I've have been thinking MCINTOSH; But I would like to know what the Klipsch-Guru's of Tube think. I've loved the McIntosh for as long as I can remember, but don't want it if there is something better for the price. AS I did with my HTS, I will consider the equipment recommended by the Klipsch Forum members. I will test drive at least 3 or 4 systems, as I did this with my HTS, before making a final decision.. Thanks for the input, and please keep it coming.
  7. Please provide me with some recommendations and opinions for a very nice/excellent tube amp and tuner, new or used. I enjoy listening to all music (depending on my mood), except c..RAP. The system will be hooked-up with a pair of Cornwalls.

  9. IndyKlipsch; Try calling Downtown Audio for an online Klipsch purchase. Just make sure they have what you want in stock before you make the purchase.
  10. At last, I finally got through to the people at Basslinear. My speaker insulation is on its way. I ordered 50 panels, so I anticipate having plenty left over, so if anyone on this forum is interested just let me know. See Ya!
  11. I defenitly think you could refinish them as origional. Go by yourself a nice DeWalt orbital palm sander (around $70 bucks more or less), get some 120 grit to help remove the stain, follow up with 180 grit and finally 220. And if your really anal, and want a glass smooth finish, give your speakers a vigorous work out with 600 or even 800 grit. Once the hard parts done just pick your finsh type. If you've never stained before, be sure to read about some of the tricks you can do to either bring out or suppress the grain. I did mine over the course of 4 days, so take your time, do your research (as you know this forum is loaded with great information), and don't rush into it. It takes time, and makes a mess so prepare yourself a nice spot in which to work. It's a great feeling after you've finished them and you realize how nice they've turned out. Don't even think about removing the veneer.
  12. Thanks for the infor guys. I'm working with another ebay scumbag that sold me a pair of cornwalls. When I received them, they were perfect on the outside, However; one speaker a missing woofer and has a faulty crossover to-boot. Ebay is supposedly working with me (slowly I might add)on this deal, but anything I can do on my own is good as done. On the positive side, fellow BB member Danny B is selling me his ALK's to install in them. All I need now is the woofer. See ya, and thanks for listening.
  13. I thought about it fini, but I want original Klipsch's with the matching serial numbers.
  14. Rob and Gary, those are beautiful speakers. I especially like those Fortes. Absolutely beautiful.
  15. Andy, where are you! What are some of the more beautiful of the dark colored veneers the show beautiful grain structure?
  16. Thanks, but I'm going to try and hold out for the basslinear stuff. I just contacted a former customer, and he informed me that the inventor is in very serious medical condition. And may have possibly passed away. I've resorted to the old fashion method and sent him a letter via snail mail. Hope things pan out. I've read nothing but excellent reviews about Basslinear. Thanks again, See Ya!
  17. CB, it is legal to buy, sell,or trade pre-ban Brazilian Rose Wood products. Key word being "Pre-Ban". In fact, you can still purchase Brazilian Rosewood planks. I've checked into it. Check out: http://www.cookwoods.com/ Anyway, IndyKlipsch is making me consider zebra wood or some other exotic. That's my key word I guess, exotic. I just want a pair (or 2 pair) of Klipsch's Heritage in some beautiful exotic wood. Soooooo, if any of you guys has a pair with beautiful exotic wood, and would consider selling them, or possibly a partial trade for my pair of 1990 OO-Corns (excellent condition) plus some cash, I'm your man/dude. HEY! Tbabb, where are you located. Also, all you guys with the beautiful wood (not woody), were are your photos. Show them off with some cool photos.
  18. OOooouuph! Does that include vasiline? $7650 MAKES MY GONADS ACHE! If the dollar values quoted above are truly indicative of the price for those babies, I better wait for a more desperate soul. For the Corns in brizilian rosewood I was guessing(?) between $2000 to $4500, depending on condition and your location. $4500 would be absolutely mint (of course), and a driving distance of ooh, 500miles oneway. Does this seem way out of line? Too high possibly?
  19. I'm interested in purchasing Klipsch's Cornwall or Khorn speakers with Brazilian Rosewood veneers. If you have these speakers and their in Very Good to Mint condition, let me know how much you want. I'll pick'em up at your door step, with cash in hand.
  20. For the past month or so, I've been trying to contact this company http://www.basslinear.com/ so that I could purchase their speaker enclosure insulation. The founder is Carl Billington. I ordered the insulation from his web site, but never received it. I've tried calling and sending email, but the phone number is no longer valid, and the emails are undeliverable. I past buyer informed me that Carl had taken very ill, and possibly is no longer manufactering the insulation. If you know a similar product or someone here in the states that sells Carl's product, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. Thanks in advance.
  21. Find a cabinet maker and have yourself some made in the wood or stain you want. There really not a whole lot to it, labor should'nt be more than a half day, and you can have a custom shape. Does'nt cost anyting to get a price quote.
  22. Don't let shipping kill your appetite for Cornwalls. I just had a pair shipped from Boston, MA to Tulsa, OK. It cost me right at $100 and they got here in 3 days. Use FORWARD AIR, Inc as your transporter. Their the cheapest.
  23. I know I'm gonna catch hell for this..... but, there are Cornwalls, and then there's the remainder of the Heritage line. Don't slam me just yet, I love them all, I'd love to own a least one pair of each. But, I've been smitten by my first pair of Cornwalls, and now I own 3. And I don't plan on stopping either, I've just gotten pickier. IF IT'S IN or NEAR YOUR BUDGET; GET THE CORNWALLS! You won't regrett it. (by the way Silver, that pair of 68's that I recently purchased out of RI, were not complete. One of the speakers is missing a woofer. The ebay seller was'nt very honest in his ebay description. However, the exteriors are in excellent condition (95%), just the missing woofer.)
  24. Hi Al; I spoke with you a couple days ago regarding Crossovers for a pair of Cornwalls, 1967 and 1968 vintage. Well, I was depressed to find out that you no longer manufactured them. Anyway, I am happy you offer the design schematic and parts list (with suppliers to boot)for the do it yourselfers. I going to give it try and build a pair for my 68's. If you have any recommendations on possible commponent alternatives (due to technological advances)please let me know before I start ordering parts.
