  1. I've brewed a total of two times, love it, but it's a bit of effort and I haven't had time in a while.
  2. In the past, the Wisconsin contingent has brought a carload of our favorite microbrews. I was considering switching to wine this year.
  3. I'm looking at getting this: http://www.amazon.com/Canon-Digital-10-1MP-18-55mm-3-5-5-6/dp/B000I1ZWRC/ref=wl_it_dp?ie=UTF8&coliid=I2JVNAXF2X5AQ9&colid=2RIA1XWRNBRRA I'm getting some advice to get the equivalent Nikon instead: http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-10-2MP-Digital-18-135mm-Zoom-Nikkor/dp/B000HGIWN4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1208199792&sr=8-2 But it's quite a bit more. One of my buddies takes phenomenal pics and suggested I get this lense: (50mm f/1.4) http://www.amazon.com/Canon-50mm-Medium-Telephoto-Cameras/dp/B00009XVCZ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1208199917&sr=1-1 Anyone have an opinion or advice on Canon vs. Nikon dSLR?

    Dragon Wars

Watched this on blu-ray last night. Good sound track, good visuals. The movie, well... The Flashback stuff was cool, the modern day stuff, not so cool 2 stars
  5. HT magazine has a brief preview of the P-39f with a picture from the News Center with the McIntosh in between.
  6. Thanks Bill. I'm hoing to have the print-quality images soon, which should have even greater zoom-in ability.
  7. http://www.klipschcorner.com/silverlight/DeepZoomTestPage.html Use your mouse to drag images around, mouse wheel to scroll in/out. I can count the coils on the components of the crossover if I zoom in. Enjoy.
  8. Y'all ought to watch this: http://perseus.franklins.net/homeatlast/

    Steely Dan?

I was recently exposed to the Steely Dan song "Home at Last" from Aja. I think I might have been missing out. What other albums should I check out?
  10. Correct, it doesn't matter. If the sound went bitstream to your receiver the first thing it would do is convert it to LPCM and then start doing it's DSP work. People are used to seeing the codec logo light up on their receiver so it takes some getting used to.
  11. I've never heard of this issue, and no I can't tell that the ps3 has any lfe issues.
  12. It HAS to encode it internally, the chip cannot pass that protocol bitstream: http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/04/10/audiophiles-and-shoppers-will-love-firmware-v2-30
  13. I am very happy. This was the one feature missing from making the PS3 a 100% full featured BD player. Can't wait to check out the sound on "Sunshine".
  14. Cod4 is so good I might also get it for the PC to play w/you guys!
  15. T2 looks a little better than DVD but not an example of the kind of quality you can get. Some of the movies older than a few years were not considered worth cleaning up as much, so the quality off the print shows on the BD. Some films (Casablanca) were considered worth cleaning up and look astounding despite their age. Take a look at Crank, or Sunshine, or the Spider Man films (not sure what your taste is or I could recommend more) or the harry potter films for examples of pristine video. Black Hawk down is also good with stellar sound to match.
  16. Well I can see that on the page, I just couldn't place the name and didn't know if he went by something else on the forums here?
  17. http://www.klipschcorner.com/SystemProfileDisplay.aspx?Id=11 Wow.
  18. Recall from my talks with Jim G. and Mark K. that they are expecting Palladium dealers to carry the type of high-end electronics that people who can spend $15k on speakers are likely to be intrested in. Mark said during the voicing process that when these were brought to him they were some of the flattest speakers he'd ever seen. Perfectly flat speakers apparently don't sound good, so I had a fascinating conversation with Mark about the voicing process. Good stuff.
  19. Just had to drop by to share this little nugget! http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/03/03/audiophiles-cant-tell-the-difference-between-monster-cable-and/
  20. Keith, would you mind if I used this for a "History" page on KlipschCorner.com? I can give you credit in any way you'd like.

  22. Ahah! This is exactly what KlipschCorner.com is for: http://www.klipschcorner.com/SystemProfiles.aspx It would be awesome if you guys put your pics in that site!!
  23. Many of you might have seen my interview with the head honchos involved in the new Palladium line: http://www.klipschcorner.com/Podcasts.aspx I've fixed some sound quality issues with my recording setup and I'm looking for topics for a new podcast. One thing I would like to do is take questions from the forums and answer those (perhaps with a co-host) in Podcast format. If anyone thinks this might be cool, please post your questions here, PM me, or mail damon.payne@klipschcorner.com
