  4. Hey! An oscilloscope that will heat your house. How about that! Rick
  5. Come on down to Rhode Island old man. My 10pt buck mount is in the attic but I'll hang it for the occasion.[] I don't have VRDs but the next best thing. A pair of KT-88 amps I built myself. Plus two different flavors of SET and DHT 2A3 PP. Oh yeah, EL-84 PP, EL-34 PP and some vintage integrateds. Rick
  6. Simple circuitry, like from the thirties! Never mind fifties. There is a good reason those theater amps from that era fetch such high prices. My little Chinese 2A3 SET surprised even me last night. A friend, Dmitry on the forum, was over and we decided to play some rock instead of jazz. Even the complexity of Black Magic Woman on Abraxas was clear as a bell at around 95db. I was appollogetic before I started playing LPs. I thought I should have had at least the Wrights hooked up. I guess there is something to Ron Welborne's favor of SS rectification that allows the 2A3 to hold it's power level without sagging on the strong peaks. If the music was compressed, I couldn't tell. The quote from the Khorn manual is circa 1977 BTW. Rick
  7. All Montanians wear a saftey and just in case of twins, an extra one: Rick
  8. I'm gonna be a big scarey thing, me!! Men quiver at the sound of my name, women swoon.[] Rick
  9. I cut my card to the queen of spades but the cards were all the same.. Rick
  10. If it's only infintessimally better than the plain black Wrights, you have a real winner there Steve. Rick
  11. That's great news Gary. Though it will be slow and painful, it sounds like Larry is going to be OK. Hopefully he will have some time with his music as he recovers. Rick
  12. It's going to be a loooooonnnngggg weekend Travis. It'll be worth the wait!!!![][8][8][8] Rick
  13. Champaine, You sound like the guy that when you tell him his brake job will be $150 says "I can buy the pads at Auto Zone for $20. How much do you want to put them in?" Know what I mean?[] Get another estimate then choose the one with the best price or you trust most. Rick
  14. George's "AU" line is for audio dealer sales. They have a few more bells and whistles than the black units and the higher retail price. Griff is/was a dealer for them (Where's he been?) Rick
  15. It's the mushrooms. Those Corns aren't even broken in yet. Who knows, it could get even better![]
  16. Yes Gary, please pass my best wishes to Larry for a speedy, complete recovery. Rick
  17. Being you are in Canada I don't know. I will give you a free bump though.[]
  18. You do know Jack![] If I were more articulate, I would say the exact same thing. Belles are the speaker for those who don't have corners. Rick
  19. Keep your tounge out of Michael's mouth!!!!! My crowns are all shaped slightly differently than a real tooth, were made from impressions and color matched. CP, did you get a copy of the warrantee? Methinks if you go back to that guy, he will recommend a whitening for the rest of your teeth:-( I can recommend a great dentist. He owns Khorns too! Rick
  20. Seti, I would like to try them in my Wrights. Rick
  21. I book marked that for a cold rainy November afternoon. Thanks John! Rick
  22. I wonder what it would look like folded up in a corner? About 120 yen to the dollar. Rick
  23. The SETH designed by our friend Dr Jeff Lessard seems to be the cat's meow of 2A3 DHT PP amps. It should operate in class A up to 8-10 watts and then PP AB to close to 20 . SETH is not a kit though you will find a nice set of instructions for building SETH at http://magnequest.com/home.htm Rick
  24. Indeed, welcome to the forum Werner. I am sure we all can learn much from your experience. Rick
