  1. I picked up a DV 970Hd. It was 50 on craigslist. It's champagne color too, which seems kinda cool. I had an old sony and this kicks its butt. This makes me want a blue ray oppo for my HT.
  2. Randall: Which output jacks do you use? I just bought and Oppo and There is a pair of front, and a pair of mix, which ones do you use.? Thanks Tom
  3. I think the new transformers are a lot less likely to cause interference. It hasn't caused any so far. Hugh knows what he's doing, check out the silo he converted into a beer mug at a local microbrewery.
  4. I waswondering what you would do. I have a very nice two channel system, Khorns, a peach and two MC250's, and was wondering what the best way to incorporate them into a home theater. I also have two LSI's and two CP-1's that are just sitting in my basement unused. I was going to sell them, but decided against it. I am very new to the home theater game. I know I would need a good sub, but should I buy a whole new receiver or could I just buy a processor and use my Macs for amplification? If it were you what would you do? Thanks Tom
  5. This is a little off topic, but check out this boat that my friends father built. http://www.mp-marine.com/steam.html
  6. I am in the process of purchasing a Tercel 2 and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for tubes? I'm just getting back into vinyl and could use all the advice I can get. I have an original peach and will be pairing that with the Tercel. I have two MC250's running in mono into the Peach if that helps. Thanks Tom
  7. Tubes are very, very evil. I just spent more on two cca's than I did on my first car. It was a 77 buick Riviera in 1984
  8. Gary: We only got 23 in Pgb. lost power Friday night and got it back yesterday. The kicker is that I finally ordered two cca's for my peach and they came Friday and I couldn't even burn them in. Tom
  9. I just tried to buy them and it went through, backed out because I really don't have space for them. Someone should jump on them. Tom
  10. No It doesn't even look close to that thing! I have to get a digi camera. It's a vintage receiver from the 70's with a champagne finish. It's 160 WPC and seems sort of rare since nobody has any info. I will be hooking it up later to my CP-1's to try it out.
  11. A good friend gave me an Onkyo TX-670. I was trying to find out some more information about this unit. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks Tom
  12. I agree with your choices, but put Ardbeg in first. Happy New Year Tom
  13. Thanks Noah. I appreciate the info. I couldn't find much on them. I'll have to take one apart to see which woofers are in them. They look like a big brother to my Industrial Herseies, same ports and everything. A little cleaning and these will be almost new, the only damage is the plastic around the speaker hookup, one is cracked. Tom
  14. No, it's CP-1. Did a search and it seems like it means Cornwall Professional. It's def a 3 wayspeaker. I just wondered if anyone has a pair.
  15. Not totally out though. I recently sold my Birch cornwalls and was trying get rid of usused things. Well things don't always work out that way and I purchased a pair of CP-1's locally for 200 bucks. I couldn't pass up the deal. Does anyone have any experience with these things, are they comparable to my recently sold cornwalls? I will post pics tomorrow, but I just got home and am a bit tired. They are in Pretty good condition, having been stored for 15 years. Any info on drivers and the like would be appreciated. Thanks Tom
  16. I bought a pair a few months ago, a 1954 and 1956. They sound incredible. Congrats on your purchase. Tom

  20. Just got home from my fave after work joint. Had a few Belgium beers. A Piraat, Gulden Draak, and Tripel Karmeliet. They have 25 Belgians on tap, and not just Stella and Hooegarden. Been a long week. Doing research for our fantasy football draft tomorrow. Oh yeah I'm drinking a Dogfish 90 Minute. Tom
  21. I always used to dream of finding an old American at an estate sale or house sale back in the day. Then you realize how rare such things are or they wouldn't e so expensive. I was always amazed at the inventory some of the bigger gun brokers had back in the day. Tom
  22. I'm with you, I loved gun list, the english doubles seemed great, but back then the 21's were a bargain and you're right, the 23 is great. I have a Winchester Classic Doubles catalog next to me right now. Been cleaning up a lot of my old literature and found some stuff I forgot about. I have the Winchester Parker reproduction catalog here too. I'll start looking for a 21 again I fear, time to switch to PBR []
  23. Second Page. I'm having a La Fin Du Monde nightcap.
