Go with the KG's. Especially the 4's rock. I can't imagine you would get any better deal on the Synergy than you would for some quality used gear on ebay.

I am real happy with what I have put together. Not happy enough to cure upgradeitus, but it is very pacifying for the time being.

this has got to be my greatest (and perhaps only) source of irritation with DirecTV. Why do some movies come out with DD and most do not? Even movies that clearly should be shown in DD (recently Sin City, Robots, etc.) do not have a DD channel.

The pipes allow you to get by, but not as good as the old. I also do not believe I like the old just because it was the old. The thing I liked about the old search was that you could search using a few key words and because it was sorted by date, you could instantly tell if there had been any new discussion on your favorite topics. This also worked well while searching for new "for sales" on any specific models.

The thing I really like like about the Star Wars DVD's is that they do not include constant rumble from the sub, but when they do hit they hit hard. I am sure Best Buy had quite a day. Star Wars Battlefront 2 also came out today. A great game. Normal first person shooter, but you also can be a Jedi or a Sith. There is nothing like being Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Yoda, and Darth Sidious.

I am sure there are others, but I have learned the most right here on this sight via the search function.

Check out the new Sony DVDirect. It is a stand alone box, but it can also be hooked up directly to your VCR, TiVo, DV Camera, or computer via USB. It's runs about $230 after rebate at BB, but it could not be simpler to use. It also seems to support about every format "currently" available. Fun little toy. Those wedding and honeymoon videos never looked better. However, be careful when complimenting your wife with how hot she looked. Mine only took it as compliment for so long.[]

Great DVD. Good action, solid story. Also, a lot of great Chicago scenery. Gotham looked like old school lower wacker before they kicked all of the bums out with the recent redo.

I just got to see JJ at "Northerly Island" in Chicago. Northerly Island is the old Meigs Field that used to be a small airport right on the lake until Mayor Daley tore it up in the middle of the night. The venue is fantastic and it was a great place to see him on a perfect summer night. If I had known this was what the Island was going to be used for, I would have liked for the Mayor to tear it up sooner.[] I hear it is temporty though. Don't know what the long term plans are.

I think the .2 and maybe the .5 are ported while the originals are not. I also think at least the smaller .2's have mounting brackets for use as surrounds. The originals also have the cool copper badges. I don't think the others do.

Nicely put, thebes. I enjoy my KG's very much. I am starting to assemble a Heritage HT, but will always use my KG's somewhere. They match perfectly in looks and sound, and sound great for their size. My roommate in college had KG4's and they rocked too.

I ran wires to the front of the house and brought the KG1's outside to fuel the block party. We used the digital music stations from the dish all day. I think the formats went something like this: 1. Radio Disney for the kids (10 minutes or so) 2. Classic Rock (3 hrs) 3. Reggae (3 hrs) 4. 80's (3 hrs) 5. Adult Alternative(4 hrs (or is it still on?)) Those music channels are made for parties and I enjoyed the outdoor "concert." Great way to finish up a summer.[ip][H][<)]

Anyone figured out how to sort the search results yet? Before, the results came up by date making it easy to see the newest posts on a topic. Now there does not seem to be any particular order to it?

aiming the center right at your ears will help a little. I am constantly adjusting the level though. DVD's always seem to need a little extra center. Especially at night when the family is sleeping and I need to try and tame the SVS sub and still hear what they are saying. The Lord of the Rings movies seemed to be some of the worst for being able to understand what they are saying and not waking up the whole house when the action kicks in. I pretty much gave up trying to watch them at night. I even notice a difference and have to adjust between different satelite channels. I guess this is all part of the fun. Thank God for multi-function, learning remotes!

I would second the matching emphasis. I continue to be amazed at how much I enjoy my little system and I am thoroughly convinced that it is because everything is perfectly matched. Why is everything matched? Because I started hanging around here. That being said, my case of upgrade-itus is getting worse by the day. Also, the biggest sub you can get your hands on doesn't hurt either.

I just got back from my local Blockbuster (La Grange Park, IL), and they no longer are stocking any music DVD's. Anybody else run into this? What a joke!

I like my kv-2, and I would like it even more if I got it for $75.

Try some wireless controllers next. You will never go back.
