Is this the type of attenuator that clicks when you turn it? If yes I had it on the Ground Grid tube preamp and with La Scalas it was too much of a jump in volume. It was hard to adjust the volume to where I wanted it, too loud or to low.

If I want to have a few drinks I do it at home and it is just a few drinks. I don't get drunk anymore cause you do stupid things that you cannot stop yourself from doing. Hope your friend comes out it okay.

I got Chickenfoot also and like the album. To me the recording was not very good quality.

I have a pair of Fortes and later this year may replace the crossovers so this thread is interesting.

I just bought the new rock album from the new band Chickenfoot(Sammy Hagar, Joe Satriani, Michael Anthony,Van Halen, and Chad Smith,Red Hot Chilli Peppers)and really like the album. But it is recorded terrible!![8o|] The first Audioslave album is recorded very good so I know you can record a rock album with very good quality. Most people just want the music to play. Then you have people in our hobby, a very small minority.

Could you split the crossover in two and do like the crossover in the pics? One for the woofer and one for midrange/tweeter?

The Oppo has component video out so he can run it to the tv but I don't know if a1080p blue ray disc can be down converted to 480i.

There is not enough demand by the public for quality recorded albums, stereo or multichannel. The majority of people are happy with their I-pods and computer speakers so their is no incentive for the music industry to actually produce quality recorded albums. There are some musicians and eng that actually make the effort to produce a quality recorded album but they are a minority.

My favorite was two weeks living in a pup tent out in the Florida woods during a ORI. I was stationed at Eglin and worked at Duke Field with the 728 TCS which I think is now assigned to Tinker AFB. Well the Oppo BDP-83 is a great regular dvd player so when he is ready to upgrade his tv everything else(receiver, BR dvd player, speakers) has been upgraded. Then once he has a new tv he should not have to upgrade everything again for at least another 6 months!![][:S]

Another way to get video for the receiver menu is the video(yellow) out to the tv yellow in video. So he is not able to get any Blue ray disc video? I guess Blue ray will not work with 480i. It may be that his tv is too old and may have to get one that has HDMI and at least 720P but he may as well just get one with 1080P. If he wants the benifits of Blue ray then he needs a new tv. This is the downside of new tech so fast I have a great 34 inch Sony CRT(heavy!!!) that had a great pic thru my Denon 2900 and don't use it now. Bought my Sony 50 inch and the Denon 2900 did not look as good on the 50 inch compared to the 34 inch. So I bought a Toshiba HD-35 and most regular dvds look outstanding and the HD dvds I have look even better. Maybe someone else on the forum can figure out a way but I think his tv is the problem.

From the Oppo website on the BDP 83 "The BDP-83 features user selectable video output resolutions, including 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, and up to 1080p 50 or 60Hz." He can chose which output so he should go into the menu and set it at 480i. So I would say yes. component should give him better video and use the coaxial cable for audio. Have him double check his tv for 480P. I may be wrong but if his tv has component hook up it seem like it should have 480p.

It could happen, or not.I agree if they can shoot 3s they have a good chance of winning but without hitting the 3s they will lose.
