  1. That looked like something I could build and maybe someday will attempt. Maybe if I can ever get me one of NOSValves stereo VRD tube amp then I would try one of these two tube preamp kits.
  2. He uses the LS IIs for his rears and center channel. I suppose he could move the KHorns to rear channel but I think they would be too close to the couch and would not be tucked into the corners. rmlowz maybe if possible try both bass bins and if you prefer the LS bass bin then you could sell the KHorns and buy two more LS IIs for the rear speakers. Let me know if you want help moving things around. I have a tube DAC that I need to bring over and let you listen to it. I'll give you a call.
  3. I don't use a sub in my home theater but use Fortes for the L/R speakers and they rattle the windows/walls. So for $500 bucks you can get Fortes which has lower bass than the my La Scalas did. A Heresy works great for a center channel and rears if you want to do a home theater.
  4. If you are willing to pay $500 I would go with the Forte or Forte IIs. $500 for a pair of Fortes they should be in mint condition. $500 for Forte IIs in good condition is a good price. Heresys and other speakers mentioned are all good speakers but to me the Forte is the one I would suggest. I owned Heresys and now have Fortes. The Fortes have much better bass and are a very balanced speaker the Heresys bass is not as low and can be a bit bright(that is how my Heresys sounded to me).
  5. If you want a great tube preamp kit to with them is the Transcendent Sound Ground Grid. I had one that had a great sound. I did not build it but bought it used. I think Erik has built them. http://transcendentsound.com/preampkit.htm
  6. I don't own any guns but I enjoyed it.
  7. When I had a sub in my HT system I did not like the sound with all the speakers set to small. Put all 5 on large and sounded much better. Try both large and small and pick the one that sounds best to you.
  8. Are the Oppo blue ray players you are getting direct from Oppo? End of summer I may be able to get one and want to know where they are going to be sold.
  9. I know a guy that has Chorus IIs with a very nice tube system and they sound great!! I have a pair of Fortes and they really sound great also!! Both the Fortes(1 or 2) and the Chorus(1 or 2) are outstanding speakers that are very good for people who don't have the room for the big Heritage speakers. I find that alot more of my cds sound better on my Fortes than on the La Scals I had. What I mean by that is the La Scalas sounded outstanding on 10% of my cd and very good on another 10%, but about 60% of my cds sounded okay as long as I did not turn them up too much. The La Scalas were just toooo revealing of bad or okay recordings. The Fortes just sound soo much better on soo much more cds than the La Scalas did I'll never get another pair of La Scalas or KHorns. Don't get me wrong when you have outstanding and very good recordings the LS and KHorns are incredible!! I have found I am enjoying more music now with my Fortes than I did with La Scalas. Enjoy the Chorus II great speaker!!
  10. Check if you have the treble too high. I forget which movie I was watching but really bright and hurting the ears. Treble was set at 8 out of 12 so turned it down to 2. Helped alot.
  11. Hey Erik good to see ya on here again!! Hope everything is going good for ya!
  12. I'm going with the Magic in 7 games.
  13. Thanks for reminding me how good the music is on this movie!! Need to go buy the soundtrack. On the blueray disc the making of video goes a lot into the music and people who play on the movie. The movie would not have worked for me if not for the music and the overall theme of the movie which I will not say in case someone wants to watch it. If you like the Blues then you will like the music.
  14. Magic are doing their part but lots of game left. Cavs will need some serious magic to win this series!! Cavaliers 34 at Magic 47 Game 6 | 4:50 - 2ND QTR
  15. Good luck on the job Saturn5!! I have a 3rd interview next week for a night job so I can start going back to school for Radiology.
  16. I agree Bruce everyone is different in how they want their system to sound. Some want the front row and some want the 25th row. To me the fun is experimenting with different equipment.
  17. I also believe if you have the money then try the Moondogs. If they do not work for you then sell them. People can explain all they want but until you hear equipment in your system you will not know how it will sound.
  18. I sold Bruce his Moondogs, not because I did not like them but needed the cash. This is the review I did when I first got them. http://forums.klipsch.com/forums/p/71605/702243.aspx#702243
  19. I am surprised that Houston is giving the Lakers this much trouble. I figured maybe one win against the Lakers. Denver and Lakers should be a good series. Cavs in Finals and picking them to win it all.
  20. Yeah I agree!! I had a headache when I got out of the movie. Probably be the last movie I watch at a theater. I enjoy watching movies at my house a lot more. Also what is the point of spending money on a home theater system. I liked the movie and thought they did a good job with it.
  21. Forte rated down to 32hz and 98 db Forte II rated down to 32hz and 99 db
  22. Didn't you hear it is the do hicky thinga that produces the gravity. []
