What does that have to do with OP's old question about a bass bin comparison in where one that generates distortion and one that controls Inter dist?

I removed the double post, there is a thread on this with same post, I took this one out.

If possible, please help to pass the message to the Onkyo team.

The obvious fix is to do the Dirac Live correction as the very last stage, after all signal summing and re-routing is done.

Hi Keks, welcome to the Forum. The Klipsch Forum is just Klipsch, even though Onkyo is another subsidiary and f the same parent company.

I will pass this along to the person at Klipsch (I’m a volunteer moderator not associated with the Company) who I think can pass it along to the right people. If I receive a response I will post it here and/or send you a PM.

Thanks for your detailed explanation of the bug so that you if we can get this in the right hands they can do something constructive.

What should I be looking at, just amps? I have a Wiim Pro Plus on the way to help with connectivity.

I have a Wiim Pro Plus on the way to help with connectivity, what would you recommend for an amp?

Heard nothing but great things about Wiim Pro Plus. I think I'm going to order one (after you get yours, haha).

You can get by with just an Amp can't you (volume control on the Wiim). I think you can look at any good solid-state amp (Wiim has one don't they?). Don't know how loud you listen, music, but 50 watts a side will be plenty.

I’ve got something very similar in which i’m having a hard time discerning EXACTLY what I have here. Seems to be a Klipsch Kit from 1956 marking w/ Klipsh Crossover and Hi-End University Speakers.

Everything is in great shape and sounds awesome. I’ve just struggled on the research.

    Has

    University C15W of a Beast

    University Type Mid T

    University SaHF

It has some Klipsh tags, but nothing thorough. I understand this is a Kit though.

I’ve had this for a while and anything you Klipsh geniuses can give me on this ismost appreciated!

    Here are some Pics

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum, I’m sure with the Museum Curator, Jim Hunter @JRH returns from the holidays he will be all over this one.

  5. The last tour I saw them in Austin (great venue layout), Houston, Denver, and Las Vegas (where we had best seats)

This tour, because of AARP advance sales, and 6 of us working together on seats, we got- Houston, Denver, Las Vegas and Vancouver.

Mick is 80, I figure this is their last rodeo, or close to it.

BassNpalomaGram is where you need to be. A limit of fish in the morning, a limit of boyds (say it out loud when you read it) in da afternoon.

  10. I guess the committee wanted to get out of Texas alive and put UT in there? Actually, heard a lot of chatter that even though no No. 7 team had made it to top 4, this year Texas really deserved it.

  11. Per @ronajon request up above, his second  plea in this thread, I have cleaned this up.

If he wants more information about it me can request (or pm) at appropriate time.

@ronajon I can tell you from personal experience this:

    1. If you make a change and do a sighted listening test,  you will almost always hear a change, and typically, we are wired in such a way that the change will be a “noticeable improvement.” The engineering science behind that is beyond question. PWK has also written about this “placebo effect.. Our brains tell the s there is a change in sound, even if there isn’t, it’s what keeps snake oil alive Audio.

    2. If you have make a change, and do a blind listening test (you will help the of a friend), then you have a more better chance of determining whether the change made a difference, and whether you prefer it.

    3. For crossover networks, I have found that 30+ years caps, in double blind testing (one updated XO vs. original) always made a difference in sound, and always a perceived improvement.

    4. For 15-25 year old caps, I listened to two different sets, blind, one there was no difference, the other there was a slight difference.

    5. For 15, 12 and 8 year old caps, blind, 4 people, no difference, or if they noticed a difference on repeated test, they were choosing at no better than chance, 50-50.

That’s all I can tell you, not the most scientific, but that’s the truth.

I have seen Dean, repeatedly, tell people in this Forum, and others, depending on the type of caps, XO, etc. they don’t need new caps.

If you do decide to update your caps, I highly recommend doing one first, and some serious A/B. I’m f possible, hooked up by a friend so you don’t know which has original, and the other has updated.

My corners are fine. I really don't need to move them.  I thought that my tweeters and mid range sounded a little muttled.  So.. I contacted Klipsch and bought these upgrade kits....Remember, mine were built in 1980, woofers/bass drivers were replaced in 1997...so original tweeters and mid range...they still rock as my carver amp seems to still like rock...like I first said, I thought they were sounding muddled...maybe not...however, I have 2 upgrade kits to make my Klipschorns from 1980 meet the standards of what Klipsch says is AK-5 standards till 2001.  So.....anybody done this?

I think @Deang is aware of some.

Hello all KSP400 owners.  I am happy to see many people own these speakers.  As I mentioned a few minutes ago I found a place to repair the plate amp and will let you all know how I make out.  Just in case, has anyone tried to replace the stock KSP400 plate amp with an aftermarket amp ?  If so what amp did you use, how did you hook it up and what were the results.  I have grown tired of repairing the stock amps.  Thanks in advance.  Johnny D

If you search KSP 400 in the search you will find several folks ended up bypassing the amps all together with good results.
